He is way too slow to play against this level of athletes.
We are probably even if we could just make some freethrows. Killer.
It’s frustrating because if you want to play ugly games like we do you’ve GOT to be good at FTs.
Golding hasn't been able to recruit a PG, a complete big man, outside shooters, or free throw shooters. 8-15 from the line? Must be UTEP shooting.
Was only a matter of time. Golding is in over his head.
I have no idea what Cole or Dos Anjos offer and why they get minutes. Meanwhile, Jones is keeping the bench warm.
Game's over. If we could take care of the ball and were able to hit a damn shot or a free throw we could have won this game, but we suck at all three.
The free throw shooting is just inexcusable at this point after last year.
Same story as last year. Solid defense in the first half, but just not enough offense.
I actually don't think we've been outplayed here. I think our ridiculously stupid turnovers and free throws are the reason we've been losing. Most of these turnovers are unforced.
We can't even score 50 points. Enough with the gimmick ball by Golding. What a waste of 3 years.

To our favor, he is stuck at utep unless he wants to lose a year of eligibility.
I don't know what magic he was able to capture at ACU, but whatever it was he left it in Abilene.
a lot of this crap is inexcusable. A poorly coached team is one that shows absolutely no progression as a season progresses. Year 1 and 2 showed this characteristic, and this year 3 team is trending that way.
With the lack of playing time, he might end up leaving for a JUCO so he doesn't sit out and going to a P5 his Junior year. I would be pissed if I had his ability and look up to see Don Anjos, Cole, and Levesque getting more minutes than me.
Agree unfortunately, Golding needs to tighten up the rotation with Jones in it. All the subbing is unnecessary
Dont know if Jones is P5 good, but he is definitely better than Dos Anjos.
He won more than Terry with Terry's players. I think the problem is recruiting. I guess ACU is just easier to recruit shooters to than UTEP.
You look back at that year 1 team and realize that Golding should have got more out of that team.
It's pretty much the same guys shooting the freethrows as last year. If a player can't shoot by the time they reach college, it is very unlikely they will improve significantly.
True but I am not just talking about free throw shooting. Basketball IQ, turnovers, half court offense, etc.
I guess transition offense has improved?

and how do you get a D1 offer if you cant shoot free throws anyways? That is one thing I do not understand. Golding has got to be doing something wrong there.
I was gonna predict 70-50, but didn't want to be an ass before the game. Lame.
Come on Chris Beard, take Golding to Ole Miss with you like you did with Terry to UT.
