and here I was feeling very excited about this season like many of you were. now we get swept in this tourney and now losing to Appalachian St! Im sorry I've supported Tim Floyd since he got here, but I frankly don't see how he comes back next year.

I don't know about mediocre. I think we're in dumpster fire status already
This team is still talented and can do real damage in C-USA. An Injury free Frazier is all C-USA 1st team easy (which is really a suprise to me), but his missed freethrows in the closing minutes have stung. We wouldn't be there without him I guess but its made a huge difference in 2 possible wins. Floyd can't do that, but I don't understand the early offensive woes and player regression under Floyd. Why are we not making 3's like everybody else? Why is Thomas not rebounding anymore or shooting his J? Why is Omega playing if his back is hurt? I'm just confused. I really thought with a minute left in the BSU game that we would be in the finals tonight and everybody would be excited. I win over NMSU is looking bleak and so is Floyds time at UTEP.
Floyd simply needs to resign as soon as he lands in El Paso. It's the only respectable decision he can make for this team.

The last thing this program needs is to do any damage in CUSA and give the new administration any excuse to keep any of the current staff.
UTEP's luck. Make a 2 pointer with a toe on the 3-point line, make a free throw and take it away with a lane violation, miss a free throw to tie the game with 8 seconds left.
Also, Willms-PT-Wade-Smith get a grand total of 11 rebounds to go with 16 fouls. Jones from NMSU had like 16 rebounds against UNM and he is shorter than all our guys.

Maybe Braswell should be put in charge. He is the one that really turned our season last year with the point zone.
I think we are the only team in the country that still runs the offense through the center. Everyone else is doing what Barbee did, penetrate to suck in defenders and then kick out to the 3-point line.
I think the problems in basketball and football are polar opposites. Football is running a good system but does not have the talent to compete. Basketball has the talent to compete but is not running a good system.
Yep. Not even the NBA runs through the inside anymore. Floyd has a good basketball mind for 20 years ago, but its outdated. He's like that granpdpa that won't use a cellphone or the internet and blames the kids 'nowadays'.

Everyone is overreacting. Floyd's teams start slow, he' tinkering, this will be the year, if not, we'll turn over most of the roster and next year will be the year. Don't you guys know that he's a family friend of the Haskins? Likes the food at H and H? That Floyd was here in the 80s? Can you name one coach besides Haskins whose had any success at UTEP? Did you know that no one actually wins the CUSA tournament, they just call the whole thing off and that's why Floyd has never had the opportunity to win one? Believe in Floyd!
