I don’t see how that is CUSAs problem. Their conference tournament is like the opposite of a “hot ticket”. Not their fault someone decided to buy tickets that nobody else was going to buy.
This isn't a "problem" that major conferences have. The Big 10 has 14 teams and they all play in their tournament. When the Big East had 16 teams, they all played in their tournament.
It's CUSA's problem because they ARE the problem because they're a shitty conference that actually leaves some of their teams out of their tournament. It's very bush league.
Well, Coach Terry did tell fans to "buy-in" to the program. So there's your contribution.
Unlike those leagues, CUSA isn’t very popular. As I have said before, it’s very far flung and trash. The 13th and 14th seeds aren’t going to win anyway or have a bunch of fans go. The CUSA tournament is also on 4 different networks.
The A10 also has 14 teams and all of their teams go, but their conference isn’t as far flung and having those 2 extra teams, adds an extra day. I don’t think CUSA wants to rent the football field for another day for 2 trash teams.
ESPN just puts the conference leader in for the auto bid. Can't be bothered to do any analysis.
Instead of CUSA lowering their standards so that the two worst teams can participate in the tournament how about UTEP raises their standards so we never finish in the bottom two of this shitty bush league.
That's why I ALSO said to tweet at Senter and Terry. There's plenty of shame to go around.
Terry and Senter really should be ashamed that, due to expectations that they set for this season, a fan plopped down $400 and now the Miners are in danger of missing the tournament. If they had any honor, they would reimburse him, whether from UTEP or from Terry's salary. I would respect that.
But that doesn't let CUSA off the hook for being a bush league conference. There's plenty of shame to go around.
They won't respond. I gave up tweeting to Senter 2 years ago when he had no clue how many tickets were sold the week of the Northern Arizona game. He rarely tweets any original thoughts of his own and just retweets things.
The only way things are going to change is if attendance goes below 4k. Hopefully then UTEP will get their head out of their a$$ and make changes.
They aren't. Just putting UNT in there because they're currently leading the conference isn't a projection. But whatever.

Not a single coach could see that as of two months ago? I haven’t seen any evidence whatsoever that they are even currently aware of the concept.

I seriously doubt that’s the case. Most boxing and MMA main events don’t even start until after 10pm. Most sports fans couldn’t even tell the difference between those two fighters, so I doubt Senter is worried about a boxing card hindering attendance
News flash not everything is Senter’s fault. As your body mentioned above, CUSA set the times.
Fine whatever. Point is, the boxing match isn’t the reason for the 5pm tip. Just goes to show you how bad CUSA is. Marshall has a 7pm too, but not the Miners. This conference is stupid as ****.

So? Is the Marshall game on ESPN or a real tv channel? It’s 7pm for their home fans. UTEP’s is at 5pm for it’s home fans.

UNT’s promotion for LT is $10 tickets and $2 concessions. Beers are $3. Nice deal. If this doesn’t help them draw 6-7k then I don’t know what will.
