Bg is intriguing but that player abuse is too much bagage for most schools to overcome. Im not opposed at all to bringing back Barbee. He built the best UTEP team of the past twenty years and inherited the worst situation of any of our coaches post Haskins. I dont hold Auburn against him. Thats a tough job Bruce Pearl is a hell of a coach and hes not doing any better than Barbee did at Auburn.

Theus has been a bust at Cal St Northridge and hes been plagued with academic problems in the program.

Barbee hated it here and I doubt he would consider coming back. Stull and the boosters wouldn't do it. If you give Theus all the resources Floyd has, Theus would bring in some big time recruits and have us in the NCAA Tourney in 2 years.

Bob Marlin. Really wanted the job when Floyd was hired. Knows how to coach. Not having a great year this year, but I'd hire him in a second if he was interested again.

Theus would be better than BG. But I can totally see Dull Stull hiring Johnson as our next coach like you said. There is a reason why Johnson is still here.

As someone else already mentioned, Johnson would follow Floyd (I agree with that). Although Theus would probably do a good job, I personally didn't like his personality. I am all for Billy G if Floyd does leave. Billy should be allowed another chance with the condition of no screw ups.

I haven't lived in EP for quite some time now, so some of the extracurricular shenanigans probably elude me. I watch on TV when I can and on MinerTV, and that kind of stuff certainly isn't captured by the camera. I wasn't even aware that he did that. That would rub me wrong too. I know he's a cocky sombitch from his NBA days. If he could bring the Ws in on a consistent basis, get us to the tourney every couple years, and keep UTEP clean of NCAA infractions, I think all would be forgiven.

BCG would be my first choice, though.

Phil Johnson would be a terrible hire. He didn't do jack at San Jose, I think Sul Ross could have beat those losers. If Uncle Phil Johnson is the coach that replaces Floyd, ima never step foot in the Haskins center again and become an NMSU fan.
