They're currently ranked #2 in both the AP and Coaches poll. They're the highest ranked Group of 5 team in seemingly forever. If they run the table, will they be one of the four to play in the College Football Playoffs? Or will the selection committee find some way to exclude them from the top four teams, most likely citing strength of schedule as a determining factor? I'm guessing the committee will find some way to screw Cincinnati out of a chance to compete for a national title.

Depends. They really need Notre Dame to run the table, outside of their game with SMU, need SMU to run it too. I think their game with Indiana is pretty meaningless now. If Bama wins out and they play an undefeated Georgia in the SEC, Bama will get in with a win and Georgia goes regardless.

Winner of this weekend’s Michigan and Michigan St gets in position to play Ohio St later. 2 of those 3 are out then. Winner would likely play Iowa. Hard to imagine they get 2 teams in.

If Oklahoma loses, they’re probably out. Still an argument for Oregon if they win out.

Still a lot of games left. They better hope Bama or Georgia loses before the championship game and that OU loses again too.

Since Cincinnati is joining the club soon anyway (Big 12), I doubt they'll try to find a way to exclude them.

If they win out, they will have beaten Notre Dame and SMU, and probably Houston (if they play in the conference championship). So they will have a few quality wins.

And aside from Navy and the triple option that can cause fits, and ND, they’ve rolled through their competition, winning most of their games by 35+. Nothing more can be asked of them.

That doesn’t mean it will impress the people that matter in the voting.

I hope they do go, just depends on how everything plays out.

Want Cincy to win it all and send a framed and autographed picture to Brian Kelly saying "This could've been you".
