I would say UTEP was the worst job of all of those in terms of History and what they took over.

I would say that Rice and Kent State are good comparisons to UTEP as far as what those coaches took over. The guy at Kent must be pretty solid.

All those jobs were pretty good situations except UTEP, Rice, and Kent,

All those jobs were pretty good situations except UTEP, Rice, and Kent,

Sean Lewis took over a 2-10 Kent St team and matched that record in his first year. Went 7-6 with a Frisco Bowl win and tied for 2nd place in the division. This year, they won the division and are playing in the MAC title game.

KSU played non-conference games at TAMU, Iowa, and Maryland. Imagine what Dimel’s record would be if he played those teams?

Also consider we were the worst FBS program in the nation when he took over as well as last place in the nation in recruiting. I am not a Dimel fan by any means, but I give the man credit for the improvement no matter how small it might have been. I'm interested in how the team compares next year. Do we improve on this year? Or do we regress and this season was only a fluke based on our weak schedule. That will be a true evaluation of his tenure as coach.
