College Football may soon move away from divisions as conferences get larger.

NCAA about to approve that a Conference can put its 2 best teams in a Championship Game. If the 2 best Teams in the SEC are from the West, this new rule will put those 2 in the Championship.

This will give the conferences flexibility so that teams in large conferences do not go years without playing each other and it gives the Conference the ability to schedule a highly rated and profitable title game.

An indoor practice facility would be nice but lots of chatter among those that cover college athletics that there will be a shift away from gold plated facilities to NIL money.

A kid is more likely to choose UTEP if they can make decent money rather than if the schools has a covered field.

IMO going forward we're going to be competing against those other cities that won't have NIL deals or little money involved in them. Not every single D1 athlete will be able to demand a deal. I think investing in the university and facilities will yield better long term benefits than paying players that will leave as soon as a P5 or better off G5 offers them more money.

Crazy to believe that when this program started a little over 10 years ago, they were at the point of holding open tryouts to fill the roster. A coworker of mine's son made the roster that way, as a running back. Astronomic growth from UTSA, definitely putting UTEP to shame.

The actual article says the police were investigating it and asked that they do not take action as it would compromise the criminal investigation. You would think if a criminal investigation has not turned up anything yet, then why should the school do their own investigation?
Secondly, they were specifically asked to not do a parallel investigation as it was imperative to allow police to investigate. “To willfully interfere — as any university parallel investigation would do — would jeopardize any chance of the truth and justice through the criminal investigation,”

If the Police have not found any evidence since Oct 2021, then maybe it is because there isn't any? Maybe Judge Kavanaugh and the Duke Lacrosse team were there? This is another example of irresponsible journalism at its finest.
