Miner fans will be left with a conundrum (Fili, someone on social media should be able to define this for you) on Saturday: whether to watch Miner Football or Basketball. At 2PM MST (or, for me, 3 PM CST) the football team will play Kennesaw State; at the same time, the basketball team will play at Utah Valley. Now for those who live in El Paso and want to go to a game, the choice is obviously easy. For those either don't want to or can't attend, the choice becomes more difficult.

If the conflict had come during the Tennessee game the choice would be easy: watch basketball. Who wants to watch their team lose by more than 50 points when there is a better alternative? However, the Kennesaw State game is one of the two remaining games that we might have a chance to win. If the conflict had come when the basketball team was playing UTPB then again it would be an easy choice, as a potentially competitive football game would take precedence over another glorified scrimmage. But while not a great barometer, as Utah Valley finished .500 last year and was picked to finish 5th in the WAC this year, it's still a game against a legitimate D1 team on the road.

In my case, there's always the possibility that my wife might have something planned that I don't know about, taking the decision out of my hands. Otherwise I'll have to make a choice to watch one while following the other on my phone, with the option to switch if I'm not happy.

I just wait for the YouTube highlights. I try not to pay attention to what happens and I watch the highlights on YouTube. But Utep has been kinda slow lately with the game highlights.

I'm a season ticket football holder and it is what it is right now and I mean that optimistically; I have seen much improvement on both sides of the ball (offense not much due to injuries) since S.Utah. I'm loving this UTEP D, they're now leaving it on the field, but are pooped out late in games due to Scotty's inefficient offense. I love Pickles' moxy.

As stated by Maniac and others, SRS games was not a true test, UV will be a much better barometer. I want to see this one.
