ESPN WBB BRACKETOLOGY 2/16/16

This is really a shame. If the ladies slip up in the conference tournament they will be left out of the dance. They could 28-3 or 27-4 and have to play in the damn wnit.

Let me get this right UTEP has a RPI of 31 and Auburn has a RPI of 32, but Auburn is more justified because of their RPI and UTEP is not justified because their RPI. Are they not almost identical stats wise? So we develop an elaborate system to identify strong teams from weaker ones, we use statistics to verify and check to see which teams are justified for post season and we do this to great detail in response trough the season as we want to be a accurate and fair as possible in selection of teams for the post season. Then in selection of teams we refuse to accept what the statistics and rating system tell us and make arbitrary selections. We have to be stupid to fall for this crap year after year.

Perhaps, the powers that be place more weight on the SOS (strength of schedule) than they do the overall RPI. UTEP's is currently 154 vs. Auburn's 69. I don't know...it does really stink of BS to me too.

The image projected by the SEC compared to CUSA is overwhelming, over powering. It's marketing and marketing $$$. Money talks...

There is a perception that only the power programs are good in womens basketball. Women's basketball is much more unfriendly to midmajors than mens basketball is. Last year Princeton went undefeated and got an 8 seed in the tournament.

I think the competitive balance in Women's basketball has been hurt by title IX. In order to balance out Men's and Women's athletic scholarships, women get 15 but men get 13.

There just isn't a depth of talent in the women's game to have great players trickle down to the mid major level. i think if they reduce the scholarship level to 12, then you would see more upsets. But in women's sports as a whole in the NCAA, there aren't a lot of small school success in anything Because scholarship limits are higher then the Men's Sports.
