I don't think UTEP will beat NMSU. They have a better chance to beat SHSU.
I think Corona said it earlier, but we all should be upset because of the way they played in the first quarter. These talented guys are being held back by Dismels 1930s offense and tempo.

There are no "definite" wins for UTEP. SHSU almost beat Liberty.
Very impressed with McConnell’s first start at QB. He played a very smart game with two TD’s and no interceptions. He managed the clock effectively and looked like a veteran player. He also showed great poise and played to win. You could see the vibe on UTEP’s team was very positive. We found our new QB.

Crap, dimel is getting a 10 year extension
This weekday game thing could work for us if we were to play good ball with some swagger. Making national news playing on a Wednesday with nothing else out there. Bad part is we usually play like doo doo and the nation will see that most games. Gonna enjoy this one tho!

Teich stated it was “Miami Vice” night at the game, hence the Lamborghini.
Did another team steal our uniforms and play that first quarter in our place? Was it a Coach Dimel from an alternate universe on the sidelines? The type of play that should have been happening all along. What were the Miners thinking? They played well on tv on a night where more eyes than usual were on the game. This does not bode well for UTEP. People will start thinking we have a real football team.
Remember when Hardison arrived at a Dimel camp at UTEP, total unknown from Hobbs, NM (NMMI qb) and beat out Dimel’s then top qb recruit who was to take over after Locksley?

Same exact thing happened last season against them. We put up 38 with our backup qb and then went silent in the second half. Always seems like some of our best offensive games have been with Hardison in the sidelines. I don’t know if Dimel is able to comprehend that notion.
Dimel has been told he wont return next season, and the players immediately start playing with a smile! haha. NMSU is going to be another UNLV game
wishful thinking... The team sure came out with some fire, obvious difference, maybe the QB change? Something felt different early on. FIU has some speed, but that early blow (usually happens to UTEP) shocked them.
UTEP ran their offense away from one of their very good DE just like our opponent typically stay away from Praise. Smart move for newby Cade McConnell. Second, FIU played and stuck with straight up man and focused on Hankins and Burgess. Third, McConnell did not appear to stare down his primary and it's hard to defend against a qb you don't have much film on as compared to Hardison and while McConnell doesn't have a bazooka arm as compared to Hardison, he has a way softer touch. Hats off to the UTEP D line who applied excellent pressure during pass plays.
