Have you guys seen this?

Well, that is one guy's agenda/goal, but its not happening and it is not news. If there were any serious discussions involving any of the major players it would be covered.

Man you have been gone a long time. We can't even get into the MWC and you think the Big12 is a possibility?! Have you seen the athletic programs lately? UTEP has nothing to offer athletics wise. And you can blame this city's lack of pride, but why don't you go ask ppl in Lubbock, Houston, and Austin how they view us. We don't have an inferiority complex, they're all arrogant pricks who think they'r better than us.

If UTEP ever got into the Big 12 it would make my LIFE! The link makes some great points regarding why UTEP should be in the Big 12. Thank you for posting this, I needed that uplifting message.

Playmaker, EP does have a major inferiority complex - F what SA, Austin, Dallas, Houston, etc.,think about EP............EP and El Pasoans have much talent and much to offer - we just need to own that and believe it.....

Hey I love the city. But then I live here. I'm not someone who moved out of town then calls out a city for no pride. I'm raising my family here.

Agree with article and I think it would take a joint effort by the city and Utep to make it happen. I also live in El Paso and love the city and have been a Miner fan since 1965. We may struggle for a few years in Athletics but our budget would probably double and we would have much better teams in a few years.

I just asked if you saw this. It's a good argument and hey, sometimes you just need to get movement on a good idea. I like that the argument points out the lack of quality education in Texas. Or, rather, that it points out that Texas avoids having flagship schools beyond Texas. If you look at California, New York and Florida you can see the difference.

Again, I just thought it was a good idea and thought I should share it. I was merely curious about possibility of a change at UTEP so I did a quick and simple search.

I think playmaker makes my point. El Paso has some growing up to do and it needs to stop the brain drain.
