Keith Frazier

Unidick what's your problem. Who the **** are you the NCAA sheriff. Get the **** out here and go back to your porn sites chump. You a ****ing chronic complainer it's getting old.

Frazier had academic problems at SMU, sat out the 1st half of last season after tranferring, then injured or re-injured a knee/s earlier this year in a car accident. MRI was apparently negative but he suffered pain and Benford shut him down. They obviously wanted to have him for the whole 17-18' season together with McCombs. He ended up playing in only 4 games at UNT and Benford is gone. If eligible, it should qualify for a red-shirt year.

He had some big games at SMU, but was inconsistent and hasn't played in a while. He was a top-notch player in high school but academics hurt his chances at the big time schools. I'm hoping that he has learned from hard times and we get his best yet here at UTEP. Baylor was looking at him as well.

I'll defend Floyd all day long over a pervert piece of shit like you. Who the **** are you to slander one of our recruits without any knowledge of the situation from the inside or the outside. Take your little perverted 5'2 ass to the gym and open your big mouth to the kid so he can stick his size 13 shoe up your ass dumb****.

I never slandered him. I'm just not falling for the hype. If he comes in here, kicks ass, and helps us get to the tourney, I'll eat crow.

Just as important as whether "he" starts is, does this change our basic starting lineup? Do we go more small ball now?

Omega
Osborne
Wade
Frazier

Seems like Floyd is gonna want these guys on the floor as much as possible. Do we play small more often so that we can maximize them being on the court?

Omega
Paul Thomas
Matt

I say are locks for starting. There is 2 spots open. I say Frazier takes other spot.

I think you're right. So perhaps a 3 guard lineup in many situations is probably what we're gonna be looking at. Maybe even 4 guards at times, when PT needs a break, and especially if Smith takes a while to develop.

On a different note, I wonder if Flags' and Touchet's time will be greatly diminished. I could see TT getting some minutes at the point early on, but Jake has to definitely be being crowded out by talent.

We can hope. Also, I still think Omega at the point is a risky proposition; but the options may force the staff in that direction. Apparently, the staff experimented with Osborne at the point in Costa Rica, but that was likely due to Gilyard being out. I am still hoping Gilyard is able to show something.

Me too. He has great pace, but has been loose with the ball, historically. You may be right, though, and he plays some pg out of necessity.

I'm still hopeful about both of our freshman PGs, even though I kept hearing that Gilyard is more of a true 2. He may have to play pg just to get on the floor, with the depth of 2s on our roster.

Omega/Magee
Frazier/Touchet
Osborne/Wade
Thomas/Smith
Wilms/Jones

Might need another walk up Mt. Christo by the time season starts. Say a prayer while you're up there this time.

Back to basketball....

I don't think Frazier will make a HUGE difference, but he may be good enough to displace Omega to the point. CTF will want Wade on the floor. Other than his senior experience, not really good news for Flaggert IMO.

We can go 9 deep with only playing one freshman (Wade). If one of the young point guards steps up it will be icing.

It was a good move on Coach Floyd.
Don't understand why we are always looking for the negative.
If we have an open slot why not fill it out with someone who has
some experience on D1 ball vice a rookie for a year.

GO Miners...

Good point "fan". Hope he contributes something positive. His history has some question marks and asterisks. It will be very interesting to see how this team all fits together. Lots of pieces to this jigsaw puzzle. They do appear to be good pieces.

Only us old folk get that reference.....

I asked a guy who follows SMU basketball about Frazier. He said he’s a “mental midget; nice talent.”
