The UTEP Men’s basketball team who is in serious danger of missing out in the CUSA tournament leads the league in attendance. All CUSA schools should be embarrassed. UTEP has had a horrible two year stretch yet continues to be the most watched team in the conference. This proves that once Senter wakes up the sleeping giant there is no telling what our ceiling will be.

Win a lot at UTEP and attendance jumps through the roof. Haskins proved that. 2000 football proved that then Price. BG was just electrifying. Barbee took a dip in attendance and opinion felt his unwillingness to do broader fan outreach and his offensive style were the reason. 2010 erased all that.

And where are you numbers that prove your statement because you are flat out wrong. Attendance went down as soon as Barbee became the coach and never reached the numbers of 2004 or 2005. Attendance was lower with Barbee every single year compared to 04 and 05. Even his NCAA year of 2009 did not even reach the 2006 numbers, much less the 04 and 05 seasons.

Yup, you're correct. But Barbee maintained well above eight thousand. 2010 was a NCAA year. Winning keeps butts in the seats. Second, if you look at my previous posts about Barbee I did say he was slightly fan challenged and it showed during his banner year as the numbers from the NCAA indicate.

I was speaking to Elpaso777 who said that Barbee did not have a dip in attendance. Your statement was right on. If you look at 2011, attendance jumped up higher than any of Barbee's years to 8959. So, you were spot on.

The attendance for the UTEP game in Charlotte drew just over 3000. The ODU vs UTSA blowout drew less than 6000 and Old Dominion has a pretty good team

Yeah, in 2011 people (me included) thought we had a "thing" with Tim Floyd. At least we got to the NIT that year.

when I saw the arena of the UTSA basketball team plays in I realize how spoiled we are when we complain about our "outdated" arena. They could fill to capacity and still have only 4000. When the Don Haskins Center has 4000 we say how terrible attendance is

Pretty embarrassing for #24 MTSU that they have to do one final push for fans because they are competing against the 3rd worst team in CUSA for the attendance crown. If our next coach is successful, the attendance crown race won’t even be close.
