People wonder why teenage kids transfer in and out of universities.
USM and UTEP were conference mates for 17 years. Honestly, is anyone here sad they’re leaving?
UTEP hasn't played Marshall since 2010 and is 2-2 vs them. Glad the Miners beat both USM and ODU in football and basketball (twice each) this past season but won`t miss any of the 3. It was as if Marshall was in another conference rather than another division of the same conference.

Thamel reports on twitter that CUSA is requesting permission from ncaa to schedule 2 conference games on week zero this season due to awkward scheduling with 11 schools.

USM did nothing for the league because they fire their football coach every two years and cheat in basketball and basically plays dirty on the court and field. ODU thinks they're the Duke of Norfolk but have won nothing and bring nothing and Marshall is the backward cousin that tries to fit in with NY high society that nobody really wants to acknowledge as friends.

Not really. The bad teams in the conference have very little chance to win the CUSA tournament. The money will be split less ways now.
No Sun Belt team is leaving to join this dumpster fire. Sun Belt plays regularly on real ESPN channels. CUSA is on CBSSN, Stadium, and ESPN+.

Who Texas State? We have never played them in football. UTEP has “never” played an AAC team in football. We did play South Florida in 2011, when they were in the Big East.
Wish we played h&a with those teams instead of BCU, IWU, and HBU...
I see it both ways. Schedule Texas State and probably lose or schedule a FCS school and win (most times). I agree though. I would rather see 4 FBS opponents on the schedule.
I don’t understand why Houston and SMU don’t try and schedule us for games though. They would probably get better attendance for a UTEP game, than most of their other home games.
With NMSU now a conference game and P5 teams out of the equation, the best we could hope for is home ooc games vs MW and AAC teams.

Hey, we’re a football school now. Almost won a NM Bowl and didn’t have a losing conference record. Fans are full of confidence that UTEP can be a Top 80 team.
We struggled to beat teams much worse than Texas St last year. I think it would have been a 60-40 game at home and a 40-60 game on the road.
