I didn't know UT tipped off Cowing to Dimel? I've heard stories of power programs getting mid majors to land their top recruit (for qualifying reasons) so their direct competition and/or in-conference opponent don't.

Interesting — wonder if he’s referring to Tim Beck, who helped recruit Bijan Robinson from AZ.
