2nd half highlights of the Miners win (42-25) over Hawaii on October 8, 1988, courtesy of UTEP and KVIA.....John Harvey got injured in the 3rd quarter. He had come back from another injury previously. The Miners were 4-1 going into the game, the lone loss at BYU 31-27. The Miners would later go onto the Independence Bowl and play Brett Favre and Southern Miss at the end of the season.

The last game of the season against Air Force was probably the best game! Miner's goal line stand with Tolbert making the 4th down tackle to end the game was the highlight!

Thanks for the great trip down memory lane. That was my senior year at UTEP. I loved that team.

Those damned helmet decals were ugly back then too, but a great year!

This was great! Thanks for posting. I would love to see more of these.

Sorry 2step, but I love those helmets.

What a great video; a packed stadium, confetti on the field, somehow UTEP's band made the trip, Kugler blocking at Right Guard, Stull at Head Coach, Reffett(who would become a future DC for us)playing Safety, future NFL Coaches on UTEP's sideline, Hoefer(UTEP's future DC during our WAC Championship year) was Coaching his first tour at UTEP, a Sophomore Reggie Barret looking almost like a 80's version of Calvin Johnson, both Kickers in this game ended up having long NFL careers, and Teicher & Limberg were still doing their thing nearly 30 years ago. This was great! Thanks Again!

Lol, "get your tickets at any Rainbow Ticketmaster locations", ha, haven't heard that in a looooong time.
