Unt is a team with killer instinct. Something Dimel simply doesnt possess. With their back against the wall they've responded well. They also know how to take advantage of hosting an undefeated ranked team. I bet UNT doesn't even have a 1/3 of the attendance we had for UTSA. Such a shame.

UNT is beating them with Dimel ball. Only 12 passing attempts to 40 rushing attempts.
We came out throwing 3 incomplete passes against UTSA and had to play catch up the rest of the game. Instead of establishing the run and setting the tempo.

UNT winning the turnover battle 3-0. Sounds like our turnover issues vs UAB. A big discrepency in that department will kill you.
Playing in the rain can be a equalizer and I think UTSA peaked when they played us. The last few games UTSA has not looked like the giant killer they first appeared to be. Will be interesting how they fair in the championship game.
UTSA apparently got too cocky and didn't come in ready to play and N. Texas is playing for their bowl lives. I think our ceiling was 8-4 this year and we definitely should've beaten UNT. We self destructed in the 3rd quarter in that game and with 20 seconds to go allowed a pass that shouldn't have happened. Anyway UNT whooping UTSA makes me feel better somehow.
That's what's frustrating. UTSA knows UNT isn't going to pass. If we had played in the rain and had to rely solely on the run game they probably beat us even worse.
I'm very happy UTSA won't run the table. UNT gets a trip to Albuquerque and Litrell saves his job.
UNT will most likely go to Frisco Bowl, not sure why'd you'd think New Mexico. I mean I kinda rather us go to Frisco and they go to New Mexico, but why wouldn't Frisco not take a team 20-25 miles away?
Bowls hate regular season rematches. Boise State has never played in the New Mexico Bowl. I'm sure that's their number 1 target. That would make UNT their choice from CUSA.
Switched over to the ODU vs Charlotte game. Could be huge for Dimel if ODU holds on. Up by 1 in the 4th.
I'm good either way, but of course prefer Frisco Bowl, cause I'm 30 min from the stadium there.
Wow....very surprising that UTSA lost. But honestly, I really don't care. Not sure what this does for UTEP re: travel plans, but it's nice nice to see some chatter on this board about where the Miners are going bowling. It's been a while.
I saw a few people post they don't feel so bad about the UNT loss now. You know how I feel? Even more pissed we were blown out by UTSA. Different mentality, different expectations.
Same. Certainly doesn’t change the fact that we lost to one we “shouldn’t” have and got blown out by the other.
The atmosphere for the first 4 seconds of the game was unlike anything I've seen in a long time. Everyone in the crowd was ready to be loud every single down. Too bad we couldn't keep it close and seen what type of impact the crowd would have had on UTSA.
UTEP has the talent but lacks the coaching to be competitive against good teams. Senter should force Dimel to relinquish control of the offense. If he refuses then simply withhold his extension.
UTSA is a better team than we are. You can blame our AD and coach endlessly but the Roadrunners are a better team.

I was pissed losing to UNT after coming back to tie it up. I was pissed that the Miners went all spastic in the 1st half vs both BSU and UTSA. I was also pissed our guys fumbled away a shot to beat UAB. My being pissed didn't change one blooming thing.
But I'm moving on and looking forward to UTEP's bowl game. Something we haven't been able to do for 7 years.
Obviously. Would it have killed us to keep it competitive the way 2-10 unlv or 3-9 USM did?
I moved on too what else is there to do. It's the UTEP way. I think I'm allowed to express my opinions the same way y'all are allowed to be on cloud 9. If we meet a winning team and beat them in the bowl game, I'll join y'all.
Whose not allowing you your opinion? I don't think anyone is on cloud 9 but some do see an overall upward trend and find at least a little joy in that.
Traylor managed to leverage successfully maneuvering the easiest schedule in the country into a 10-year 28 million dollar contract. Amazing.

Both UTSA and W. Kentucky ended with 7-1 conference records. They didn’t play each other in the regular season. What was the determining factor in deciding UTSA would host the championship game? Overall record?
Head to head matchup UTSA beat WKU earlier this season. However, I think this gives WKU an advantage. I would not want to take on that offense in a climate controlled dome.
