It would be great news if Senter wasn’t AD. But if Terry leaves , Jim Senter will be hiring his replacement. That just means he will hire another average coach and lock him up for 5 years at $750k per year.

I won't be suprised if Senter gives Terry a raise and extension to keep him. You can never underestimate how incompetent Senter is.

I thought about that earlier and almost shit myself. As much as I'd like to see Terry leave, I dread the thought of Senter hiring his replacement.

Sadly, I dont think we'd attack the Terry replacement search aggressively. Senter would probably hire a safe guy like Sadler at best. Good enough for CBIs and CITs in today's game but little home run potential. And I say that as a guy who really liked Sadler and tried to defend his mediocre recruiting.
Agreed. Would be dumb to do that with names like Alvin Brooks III and Royal Ivey out there who I think could brew immediate success here in my worthless opinion. Both would dip once a P5 offer comes but fugg it the retread hiring process got both revenue sports in this shit hole.

Might explain why Efe put his name in the transfer portal. Not saying that he is going to transfer to UT , but he was very loyal to Terry and might want to leave cause Terry is leaving.

What a great break it would be for UTEP if Terry leaves for Texas. Get $500k from Texas, reallocate the $2.1 million Terry salary over the next 3 years in a more reasonable way between fb and mbb. But we don't have the right AD to do it.
