OT: Cowboys

Does it even matter? Aren’t we fu*ked either way until Jerry is gone?
Yes, 100%. But if the team was even going to make the playoffs, they needed to get a RB tandem.

Best case scenario is that they play out the year with Dak, and don't re-sign him and start the rebuild with a drafted RB as they did with Elliot. This team is pulling apart at the seams, as players are going to depart for greener pastures. You are only putting it off and falling deeper in a hole if you don't start now.

Of course Jerry the greatest GM in football will keep using duct tape to hold it together until it completely bursts and we have a bunch of bad years in a row.

Zeke only makes sense if they add another star running back. He is a glorified FB. Pollard did so well because Zeke was with him. Pollard was a decent back without him, but nothing special. The only guy that would work by himself was Aaron Jones, and he is gone. Barkley would have been the add, but you would have needed to keep Pollard.

Seems like Jerry's all in is BS.

I am okay with the Cowboys not making any free agency splashes, and drafting offensive linemen and a decent RB in the later rounds as long as they are set on rebuilding and do not re-sign Dak.

They need to utilize Cooper Rush and Trey Lance and see what they have. Use the over 60 million a year that Dak would get with a new contract and sign some players for the future. This is the smartest thing to do. Rebuild now.

Everyone forgets about Cooper Rush. He was 3-1 when Dak was out the last time.

The Cowboys don't need a superstar at QB, they just need a guy that can manage the game and not throw interceptions at the worst possible times. The team needs to give him a shot.

Though, it will be much harder without a real RB as the team now has to rely on the passing game a ton more. Secondly, Pollard was 1/2 the RB he was the year before, because he did not have a FB to help him.

Now, Zeke is back as a FB, but we now do not have that star RB to go with him. This team is going to collapse.

The on field production valuation is worth about $10.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Dallas if they get off to s slow start.
Jerry will be red as a tomato pissed off saying this is a Super Bowl caliber team and he is disappointed when he gets interviewed by the media. He will resign Dak and make him the highest paid player in the NFL. He will say he needs to evaluate the HC position and will wait till the end of the season to do so. McCarthy will get fired, but nobody worth a crap will apply because the HC position in Dallas is just Jerry’s puppet. Jerry will still remain the GM and make his awful players decisions like usual because he thinks he knows how to build a Super Bowl roster because he did it 200 years ago.

I'd hope they'd resign Herschel Walker and see if Minnesota still has some interest in him.

The issue over the last 10-15 is that we've generally not been bad enough to justify a complete rebuild. Dak exemplifies the franchise's dynamic right now. He's good enough to make you not want to let him go but not good enough to take it to the next level.
