OT: Locomotive to play

Does Indianapolis have a chance at MLS? Yes compared to EP who really doesn't. Indy will have to get in line. At the moment it's a long line.

Could be over a decade before they're considered.

Not talking about relegation/promotion. His new team has been applying to be an MLS expansion team and if he can rally a good amount of fan support, leverage their new stadium, and shake the right hands, they could be in line to be an MLS franchise.

Yes, but your point to say he could get them to MLS is not accurate.

Let me reiterate, if Mark does well, wins, and builds up their profile then it could be what they need to push them over the edge and have the MLS accept their invite. Them winning championships at this level matters, since it would show they are already a successful organization.

either way, good luck to him and thanks for the memories

MLS expansion has nothing to do with on field performance. It has to do with amount of corporate sponsors, per capita income and most important but most overlooked existence of a regional sports network. Indy does fit that last criteria well. Bally Sports Indiana only has a deal with one professional team: The Pacers. They would love the added content an MLS team would provide. Indy is in the running but certainly not one of the favorites to land one of the final MLS expansion slots.
