Kalahari Resorts are Awesome 👍 Would rather see that in El Paso than Great Wolf Lodge that pulled out and is trying to be asked to reconsider and build one on the far east side. It appears everything has been going west, so it'd be good for a Big project on the east side.
Been to the Kalahari twice and going again in December. I loved it.

Where exactly can they build stuff in the Northeast?
Lot of area between Mesquite hills and north hills (Bowen Ranch is being sold off... unfortunately another immigrant facility is being built). Huge area where Cohen used to sit. They need to tear down the government housing that is currently fenced off on Hondo Pass. Space east of EPCC TM.

A buttload going on in northeast. LOTS of new housing behind rust tractor between dyer and mccombs being built.
I agree, the government housing on hondo needs to go. They were supposed to remodel them like 8 years ago.
What happened to the development that was supposed to take place at northgate?
The area on kenworthy is quickly filling in, finally. More needs to go in where cohen was.

A new club opened in sunrise....but there was a shooting there last night. Ha! geez....

That Northgate area is such a blight. K-Mart couldn’t even make it over there

k Mart didn’t make it anywhere
I'm having a hard time understanding the initial comment. That Kmart was there for several decades. It closed down as a result of Kmart closing almost all of their stores. I just Googled it and there are only 20 remaining in the country. There may be somethings that you can blame on that location, but kickball is completely correct, Kmart's demise isn't one of them.

Edit: other Google links say that there are only 3 remaining stores in the US. Whether it's 3 or 20 you can't argue that corner of Wren and Dyer is the reason why that Kmart went out of business.

Catfish basket still over there ?

2step reminded me.....

I heard that an arena/venue type thingy is going to be built down there too. The talk is the people behind it want to capitalize on EP peeps, being next door to a casino, and having an amusement park too. Less property taxes and far less El Paso political bs.

Maybe Kick knows more since he is closer to the area than I am.

That would be dumb. Not too many eastsiders would go there on a regular basis.

Yeah real dumb.....saving a bunch of money on taxes and the cost of property....when everyone in the area can come see Jason Aldean....yeah....its stupid....
Yeah, I can’t believe an “arena” hasn’t already been built in Sunland Park! Man, that area is sure in need of what is sure to be a cheaply built 4,000 seat venue to host Jason Aldean once a year.

Surely, Sunland Park will start stealing top acts from El Paso and Las Cruces!

Maybe UTEP and NMSU could play their head to head games there? You know and forgo all that revenue to play in a smaller arena.

Think of Traders Village as a glorified Fox Plaza Flea Market with shade and storage space store fronts. Same off-brand, old crap, custom graffiti-apparel, cell phone accessories you see at any flea market. Thanks for the memories Western Playland! Won’t be eating my broccoli anymore!

Chuco Relic had that.

All we need is El Paso actor Arnaldo Santana (RIP. Scarface actor and friend of Al Pacino)T shirts; maybe Santana days at the new venue?😝 Band and everything?

It’s cool to see that two El Paso actors came out in Scarface, Arnoldo Santana and F. Murray Abraham.
