lol the City of El Paso should be the last ones to criticize after that arena debacle. If remember correctly they messed up the wording on the bond.

Seems to me that El Paso is very republican right now. CBP, local PD, lots of republican views in the city even extreme right wing trump people seem to be in the majority.

I heard from a friend at the City last week that the land across from West Towne has some potential projects brewing.
A large distribution warehouse is one and a retail project similar to West Towne is the other. The Mayor is keen on pushing through the DC. Per my source, the mayor is pushing the warehouse so that he can leave office with a catchy headline in the papers. Everyone else at the City wants to see the retail project.
I would rather see a retail project especially if it will be as nice as the other shopping centers happening in the area.

It looks like VanTrust has submitted an offer to purchase the land. The City Council agenda released today says it will be discussed next week. Here comes another big warehouse on I-10....yippee
I just heard from my friend at the City that a big developer submitted a contract with the same purchase price but they want to build a monster shopping center. They think Costco or Target would be involved. Oscar apparently told the developer to kick rocks, he wants Amazon.

Here is a link to one of the local news stories about what I have been talking about for the past couple of weeks. KFOX included the site plan of what River Oaks wants to develop there. I would rather have another shopping center than a warehouse. Also a new traffic signal is being installed on Paseo del Norte across from Raising Cane's/Panda Express.
City selling to VTRE
I took my daughter. It was nice, but small. The shark tank was closed (they were changing out the water). There is a little bird sanctuary where you can feed birds as they land on you. She thought the best part though was the area where you can hold reptiles and snakes and pet a porcupine. The otters are cool, but I think you have to pay extra to handle them.
Idk why tf we care about two internet guys not knowing how to eat chicos but back to the topic of the thread.
There’s also a tweet showing Sul Ross’ stadium in the football news thread, despite it being built in 1924 and isn’t newly renovated. Must be a slow news year.
