Pac12 not dead?

Yeah
I’m not. It was time for them to stop beating almost all of their WCC opponents by 20 points most nights.
but the goal is to win national titles and they're already competitive at that level in their current conference. This has hints of UNLV leaving the big west in the 90s and never really getting back to the same national competitive stage.

Didn’t UNLV get hit with probation and Tark left? Few isn’t leaving and they run a clean program. Not the same.

You're right, it's not apples to apples, UNLV also had a football program to park somewhere and obviously the WAC was much stronger in the 90s, Utah made the finals in bball and UNM had some ranked teams. But still, Mark Few isn't going to always be there.

Surprised. What a coup for the PAC teams. Gonzaga must be promised a full share for just the bball program.
Well, if that’s the case, the other Pac members may not like it. I understand Gonzaga brings a consistent winner, but football eats up most of the athletic funds. The Pac doesn’t have many good options remaining and will most likely try to entice Memphis again for all sports.

When Mark Few is gone Gonzaga will be irrelevant and they don’t have football. Table’s about to go cold….Black has hit 7 times in a row and the pac 12 just put all their money on black….

Few is a great coach, but he apparently thinks drinking and driving is ok. If he didn't learn his lesson and Gonzaga hasn't put someone to babysit him on that matter, their basketball program can go down the drain fast.

I wonder if Texas St. is being held up, because PAC is still trying to convince N. Texas or UTSA? If the stick to their AAC commitment then I think Texas St. gets announced to the PAC and MWC goes with Tarleton St. They recently expanded their stadium and have been chomping at the bit to go FBS!!! Their fan base has a decent presence here in the DFW area too.

Had no idea where that school was located, it's pretty close to us here in DFW! Easy road trip!

Tarleton State is in Stephenville, about an hour and half from Dallas. Not that close. Not easy to get to

I’m sorry but cusa is for fcs starts up. Let them prove themselves there first before getting a seat at the big kids table.
They did bring big boy money that UTEP will partake in. Liberty was in a BCS bowl. CUSA was top notch in CUSA 2 years ago.

SHSU will whomp on UTEP and bring us back to earth.

BCS bowls stopped existing a long time ago. Have no idea what cusa was a top notch cusa two years ago means.

We’re already at the bottom of the earth with most expectations even lower than that.

Only a matter of time before Memphis joins?

I doubt it. Everything I've read from reputable guys like Dan Wetzel and others says that the AAC schools are locked in to the AAC. That ship has sailed.

But then, money rules everything. Just how much does the PAC have left after paying the MWC to lure Memphis or any other school at that level?

What they’ll probably do is get the TV evaluation with Memphis and some other teams in it. Then if the money is what they’re promising, they may have a shot. I think the issue for Memphis, Tulane USF and maybe some of the others, was there’s no guarantee of TV Money being all that much better yet. So the PAC is smartly waiting now and getting the evaluation done before making another pitch.

I think Memphis must be holding out for when the ACC goes shopping next go around.

Florida State and Clemson will leave eventually. And it wouldn’t be shocking if it doesn’t work out to the liking of Cal and Stanford.
Eventually, sure.

Cal and Stanford like it because they’re in the P4 and have auto CFP access and guaranteed money from it. They’re not going anywhere soon either.
