So nothing from UTEP Basketball for weeks...

Money is such a driving force but you all want to boycott Utep — see how far that gets the program..
Imagine you have a favorite restaurant one you’ve loved since you were a kid. It used to be really good. The food was delicious, the service amazing, and it was always packed. Over time things started to slip. The quality dropped from great to just ok. And now under new management it’s bad. The once busy restaurant is nearly always empty. The food is terrible and the service is even worse.

You and your friends, loyal longtime customers, voice your concerns to the owner. You express your disappointment and offer honest feedback about the direction the place is heading. Then you find out the owner had an opportunity to make a change to bring in someone new to turn things around. But instead he doubled down on the very manager responsible for the decline.

Would you keep going there? Or would you finally decide it’s time to take your business somewhere that values its customers?

Fili GCU doesn’t have a football team and all money goes to men’s basketball. Trust me they spend a lot more than us! Also Grand Canyon University is a lot bigger than you realize with a National Enrollment of about 120,000. It’s not a state University it’s a private university with Alumni and donors across the country. It based in the massive Phoenix Metro area and if they ever get a football team will be competitive in that as well! So No… we do not have more money than them!
Isn't Utep backed by the UT system? Utep doesn't have the money UT Austin but I know it has to be way more than what GCU has. Have you seen what UT Rio Grande is doing? UT System has to be way bigger than GCU. I believe UTEP has more funds than they say they have, they just using the funds for other things.

To keep this scenario going:

1) UTEP's thinking for the last 30 years is, this restaurant is owned by an El Pasoan so its your duty to support it, just pick out the hairs in the food, ignore the cockroaches, and don't expect a refill on your iced tea. Be happy we didn't shut down 15 years ago.
2) El Pasoan's thinking on the other hand, is "I am so proud that this restaurant was opened by a local, so I ignore the the fact it sucks, but I am so lucky to have this in my neighborhood, all I ask for is that the restaurant makes me proud; quality and service is secondary. The fact it makes me want to throw-up each time doesn't compare to my pride in how hard the employee's try really really hard".

UT doesn’t give a damn about UTEP.
okay i admit I'm wrong. GCU has a net worth of 5.6 billion. Utep is at around 330 million. Where is GCU getting all their money from??

What does the UT System have anything to do with it. Athletic funding is not funded by the UT System. The UT system manages other things like accreditation, academic requirements and budget. The only time IT is involved is when Utep sends a contract for approval.

I very clearly explained if you paid attention Filli. They have 5 times the amount of students Utep does, they are nationwide and have tons of rich alumni!

So what is the current roster? With the new commits. Golding also said that the Scholarship Limit is 15 but we are expected to use 14. Football Scholarship Limits also increased but they wont be able to use all of them.

I’m telling you guys, we offer to run UT’s system in exchange for their development players paid bu their NIL
In theory it’s a solid idea, but practically speaking, wouldn’t it make more sense for Texas to have UTSA do that? It’s just a short drive down I-35 making it easy for the staff to check in on their players regularly.
