Reactions: UTEP05
Unfortunately, this has been UTEP's luck for a while now. Imagine if the Red Rocket, Andy Dalton or Trevon Boykin had chosen UTEP instead of TCU, their only other offer. Mike Price might be a god in these parts.

I did not know UTEP was Boykin's only other offer and I forgot UTEP was on Dalton's list too. However, it was no secret the Big XII was following Price, literally just him mostly, over some recruits. Juaquin Iglesias was OU's #1 receiver a few years back. He was also UTEP's top recruit who literally was stolen away at the last minute at LOI signing day when OU came knocking and offered him. If I remember the story, UTEP confirmed if he would sign with the Miners and he gave his verbal pledge. The afternoon turned out differently.

There is no doubt that Montez stock sky rocketed.
One thing we have to keep in mind is that a lot of players once in a while
have a hell of a game. That doesn't mean he is going to take a team to
the promise land. There is a lot of football to be played and other teams
will adjust to his style of play.
I am not trying to put Montez down, I am just surprised to see how people
react when somebody has a great game. On the other hand we have
Aaron Jones who has proven he is one of the best players UTEP has seen
in years; and still some guys bash him, stating he wouldn't do as well at
another conference.
I guess that is why we all have a brain.

Go Miners....
