UTEP Basketball Recruiting

If I’m being 100% honest besides maybe Terrell I never really felt a closeness as a Miner fan to anyone the last two years. That may be just how it is with the new NIL age. However I’m not obviously excited about Golding keeping his job. The idea of a whole new team is at least intriguing.

Nothing solidifies recruiting like kicking him off the team and rerecruiting a guy. Some said this was a typo. I think it's absolutely true and Golding thinks he has Bynum right where he wants him. We're playing checkers and Golding is playing chess.

I think we get a discount if we take him back.

Pretty embarrassing that he left for what will most likely be a lateral move.
And these are the players that are hyped up by homer fans until they leave UTEP. Look at the schools that are being mentioned with these portal players. They will end up a mid major or sitting on the bench like Oyenma did at UT.

I don’t care that any of them leave, they should do what they feel is best.

With this ridiculous NIL, education means nothing. Hope all these guys are getting enough to last them a lifetime.

Obviously they are not and I would venture to say most wont budget. Kinda sad to see, unless they are driven to finish school or learn another skill that can make them money.

I agree, Rot. In thinking about it, the way the football staff use the socials to get the word out about new recruits and recruits that they are courting is impressive. On the other hand, we hear ABSOLUTELY NOTHING from the basketball team. There's no hype, no word on recruits, no up-to-date info. It drives me crazy because I know how big a role that socials play in creating and maintaining hype. That's just one level of communication, too. I realize there are other layers that are not being made a priority, as well. It's as if they are encouraging the fanbase to NOT care, stay uninformed, and trust them to do good things. Not an effective marketing strategy, to say the least.

But, I guess we can look forward to the annoying screaming fan in the stands and the various out of date theme nights with 3k in the stands next season.

GO MINERS!
I guess you could sit elsewhere if needed too
