I don’t understand why some people take message boards so seriously???? If someone posts “inside info.” take it for what it is worth and who cares if it wasn’t true. It keeps it fun and entertaining.
Nobody is taking it seriously.
It's BS. An unverified "word on the street" from our local troll(s). Remember who posted it and ignore them (Tstix)!
What a joke of a poll
After all, interviewing and hiring new coaches is a lot of workThe reality is when your athletic director is jim senter, he doesn't exactly inspire trust. A bone-headed move like that is well within his wheelhouse. You don't even have to look that far back for similar mistakes: dimel and Terry both 'earned' extensions from him.
Its not the troll i am worried about but the incompetent AD that provided unwarranted contract extensions to both terry and dimel!don't believe the unverified trolling.
Sounds like Senter said Golding will be coaching another year. Hopefully that was just AD talk.
On MinerTalk it was said that MinerIllustrated asked Senter about CJG. Senter said he still has another year on his contract and he’s still our coach.Damn, where did he say that?
At least he didn't say anything about signing an extension. On MinerTalk it was said that MinerIllustrated asked Senter about CJG. Senter said he still has another year on his contract and he’s still our coach.
It could be that he’s not gonna let the world know before he lets Joe know. But knowing Senter, it could be exactly what he said.
This is why no one has any confidence in Senter. On MinerTalk it was said that MinerIllustrated asked Senter about CJG. Senter said he still has another year on his contract and he’s still our coach.

True. But would he? I can see him inconspicuously slipping it under the door.At least he didn't say anything about signing an extension.
I'm taking Overhaul The Program as a change in leadership (Senter) and coach. What a joke of a poll

I just hope whatever happens … happens fast
Sorry to say without actually seeing Golding signing his extension and Senter putting his signature on his side it’s as close to factual as it gets he signed an extension 2,years no raise those are the basics. What a mess Senter has made.Nobody is taking it seriously.

No coach ever coaches during their final year on their contract anymore. So either Golding goes or gets an extension. He isn't coming back for a lameduck season. On MinerTalk it was said that MinerIllustrated asked Senter about CJG. Senter said he still has another year on his contract and he’s still our coach.

Yep. Portals changed everything, but recruits today follow the coach, not the school, generally speaking. No coach ever coaches during their final year on their contract anymore. So either Golding goes or gets an extension. He isn't coming back for a lameduck season.
Yeah, I know this is true...typically speaking. Senter seems to do things his way, though. I sincerely hope you are proven right. No coach ever coaches during their final year on their contract anymore. So either Golding goes or gets an extension. He isn't coming back for a lameduck season.
15-5 start was fool’s gold.Just like the every year since 2010 (15 years!), we are not participating in the NCAA tournament. At this point we not a basketball school anymore and haven't been for a while. 11 classes of UTEP seniors have gone through 4 years of bad basketball. Our fan base is slowly dying out because we aren't creating new fans. We are a bottom feeder and were somehow lucky to get out of CUSA despite being bad at revenue sports athletics. Our coaches have been terrible and we have an even worse administration that allows these things to happen.
Thank you and good luck to the seniors that have been with us for the past couple of years. I don't think we will have a whole lot of continuity this year. This was supposed to be the year. Instead we started off the season with a 15-5 record then only won 3 games afterwards.
Golding will be back next year (according to the rumors on here) and have to rebuild. He's proven that he's not a great recruiter. He doesn't understand rotations. He's not great at coaching offense or defense, yet he is getting an extension. 2 players that started this season on the team were removed from the roster before the season concluded. This is why we have had 11 senior classes at UTEP not see us play in the tournament. We are in a vicious cycle of stupidity while our administration continues to cash checks and make bad decisions.
Much respect to all of you, my fellow UTEP fans that have stuck with this crap for so long. We deserve better. UTEP doesn't deserve us as fans.
Senter will do what he’s told to do by the BMDs, since they’d have to pony up for a new coach anyway.Yeah, I know this is true...typically speaking. Senter seems to do things his way, though. I sincerely hope you are proven right.
Well...what do you think they're gonna tell him to do then?Senter will do what he’s told to do by the BMDs, since they’d have to pony up for a new coach anyway.
Idk. They just ponied up to join the MW. Maybe it depends on whether a gettable coach excites them?Well...what do you think they're gonna tell him to do then?
Nah. This team nearly beat a really good Louisville team on the road. Something just went wrong the back half of the season15-5 start was fool’s gold.

It's the typical Golding pattern. Peak during the first half of the season and fizzle out during conference play. The end of last season somewhat went against this pattern, but playing someone really close early in the season means nothing. Especially considering Louisville had a 7 man team at the time due to injuries.Nah. This team nearly beat a really good Louisville team on the road. YepI have to agree with you on this. I had VERY high hopes before the game on January 11. It all went downhill after that.
What are your expectations for next year? Are you happy with Bronzing staying at the helm and the results of his last 4 seasons?
