With our guards often not able to score, Williams is trying to do too much. Their defense is really keying on him. Unfortunately when he does hit the open man they are missing their shots. If someone doesn't step up to help William's we will lose this game

So good they lost to 2nd year D1 transition team Cal Baptist!
It was over the back, but not as egregious as Teich made it sound. A clear foul, but he didn't take his head off.
Is our student section ever going to learn not to yell sit down when we're shooting free throws?
Do you even watch the games or just monitor this board for every update to contradict us.
This team needs to learn to block out. It's ridiculous how bad we are on our defensive boards

They along with us are in the top third of all 350 teams. That’s pretty good considering the best “68” teams make the tournament.
You have to give credit to UCI. I thought they were a bad matchup for us due their size inside. It is tough when you have so many stretches as this team has without a basket; 7 plus minutes down the stretch. Bottom line is that we pulled it out. Great to finally win the tournament once again.
And Duke lost to SFA, Kentucky lost to Evansville...
UNM is 11-2. Three good wins for the good guys. UNM, NMSU and UCI
Now we just need a road victory to get the monkey off our back.
Hopefully grab a 4th Thursday with the tough roadie in H-Town, would be nice to go to the islands 6-1. Go Miners.

SFA and Evansville aren’t 2nd year D1 transitional teams though. And they haven’t lost 5 other times outside those games like Irvine has.
These refs were inconsistent. They called pinky on the arm calls when pg brought the ball up to mid court but yet no calls for maulings when shooters took it to the boards at times. Hawk took a shot to the chops accidently but UCI got a flagrant 1 after 10 minute review, literally. UCI HC showed great composure because it was a "are you kidding me?!" momentum killer.
