Well there goes our nice new rivalry we had going with them the last few years! Also sucks that alumni in the rest of Texas will now miss out on games in SA, Dallas, and Houston. Nobody wants UTEP and that Just sucks ten fold!

Not playing games in Texas major recruiting areas will not help recruiting.

UNT and SMU have an ooc series that will now be in conference. Both should be looking for replacements.
It was developing. Not to the degree one of our posters suggests, but it was getting there.
Even with the SA market, they’ve had a pretty remarkable progression within a decade: Southland > WAC > CUSA > AAC

Don’t be surprised they join CUSA. They want to go FBS but I believe there have been budget issues.
Hilarious. They play in a 6,000 seat stadium and the Southland teams that recently joined the WAC, left them and others behind. So not only would they have to expand their stadium 3x, they would have to add more scholarships and sports. All that just to bridge El Paso to Ruston. I listened to KROD today and they mentioned UIW and Houston Baptist as possible CUSA members. They are clueless. I will bet you $500 UIW isn’t going FBS to join CUSA. Maybe in 15 years, but not now. So let’s see you walk back “Don’t be surprised” and chicken out again.

Chuckles, that’s their budget dilemma. They don’t have the money to expand facilities. However, UTSA plays basketball in a high gym with promises for that U of Houston-esque arena. (I’m being snarky about the arena).
Who cares what UTSA plays in? They’re headed towards the AAC and not Independence with NMSU. Remember when you would laugh at the Aggies predicament? Guess you will go on a rage now.
