UTEP mentioned in New College Football Playoff Expansion Proposal

Does anyone else have this earworm rolling around in their heads when they heard the words "UTEP" and "playoffs?"

OT: College Athletics should allow trades

"I'm sorry, son. You've been traded to East Northwestern New Mexico Polytechnic for a case of green chilies and the queso recipe from La Posta."

HeroSports.com: Can UTEP buyout Dimel's contract?

My apologies for sounding uninformed, but with everyone calling for Dimel head on a pike, hasn't he signed (or will sign) some offensive studs that will be playing next year? I mean, yes the football program was stuck in the stone age, and it's gonna take more than a couple of seasons to get...

UTEP global Alumni PICK–NICS Saturday, June 8

Thanks for posting. The San Antonio Network will host ours at the Dave & Buster's downtown location; it's within walking distance of the Alamo. https://alumni.utep.edu/emailviewonwebpage.aspx?erid=21707349&trid=b37c0637-efc7-47b9-8b26-da20644aaaa3

OT but hot damn, good news! UTEP officially reaches Tier 1 status

I could not agree with more. Athletic wins are just a temporary flash in the pan. UTEP could go 15-0 win a national championship, but that does nothing for the respect of my degree. That undefeated season won't help me get a job. Top schools like Harvard, Yale, Rice, MIT, etc, don't aren't...

Semi OT: Former UTEP Football Great, Jonas Craft Publishes First Book

There's always that special someone who has to turn a positive into a negative. Good grief Charlie Brown.

Semi OT: Former UTEP Football Great, Jonas Craft Publishes First Book

If this thread is inappropriate, please have it taken down, or let me know and I will take care of it. I've known Jonas for some time, he definitely has made the most of his post-UTEP days. I encourage everyone to pick up a copy and learn from one of our very own...

    First UTEP Fan Council Meeting

One big suggestion from an out-of-town alum, I would really like to see better engagement with those of us who are not in EP. Having the football team come to San Antonio is great, but it's every other year. Yes, we do get one women's and one men's game, but it would help the chapters/networks...

    UTEP fan council

I also was one of those who applied but didn't make the cut. If memory serves me right, I was told they are planning on expanding the fan council each year or some other timeframe.

    Aaron Jones, Good Samaritan

The Aaron Jones apple didn't fall too far from the tree. I met his dad the last time UTEP came to San Antonio (the 5OT game), and he was kind enough to stop for a moment as everyone was leaving when my friend and I asked to take a photo with him.

Nevil Shed, and the Spurs Sports Academy

For 30 years, Nevil "The Shadow Shed" has been heading up the Spurs Sports Academy. Now is the time to start planning those summer camps. The Spurs Sports Academy are a great place to learn teamwork, discipline, and fair play from our very own UTEP Miner, Mr. Nevil Shed. Check out this video...

Senter starting a "UTEP Fan Council"

This is great. I wish they would include folks from outside of EP. Living here in San Antonio, I've seen tons of UTEP fans at football and basketball games. I think it would help give a different perspective.
