Coker fired at UTSA

They had no choice over the weekend eastern Michigan poached their dc. Its not good when the poorest school in fbs is poaching your coordinators. Yesterday their director of football opperations left for UNT. UTSA has some serious structural problems. They have a tiny budget, their entire coaching staff make 800,000. They have no facilities. They dont have an on campus stadium. They need to win back their fans and garner some media attention in San Antonio. I think the next coach will be Kendall Briles. His name recognitin will jump start recruiting and sell tickets.
I can assure you it won't be MA. He just turned down the Texas State opportunity to build on whats going on at UH. He also just picked up Kyle Allen (former 5* QB) to run the offense in 2017, after he sits his transfer year. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes UH's head coach when Herman bolts. It would make sense.
Applewhite is right where he should be. Smart move not to take Texas State job. I know most of the fans on here don't like Texas, however, rumor from Texas nation are saying that boosters have their eyes (and checkbook) on Herman if Strong has another up and down year.
Shame on UTSA. Coker got a raw deal. You want him to build up a program to play at the highest level, don't build, don't create a fan base, pay worse than your in state counterparts and he gets the pink slip?

The Aggies next coach is at SMU. The ponies are going to be real good next year.
I doubt Herman ends up in Austin. I think its muck likelier his next home is in Baton Rouge.
I agree. Just don't think it'll happen. From what I have heard, he isn't ready to leave Houston due to what they are building. His opportunities will expand immensely with just a couple more good seasons, which UH is setting themselves up nicely for. I also truly believe he might be being groomed as the heir apparent to Herman.
Herman has more sense than that. aTm is a dumpster fire and will take a couple years to scrape the char off. Plus TH has coached at UT already. Mack may be gone from the coaching ranks, but the man still has a LOT of pull in Austin. He loves Herman and gushes about the guy's potential. Herman to Texas when Strong gets the boot.
Agree that Chad Morris will be the next Ags coach. Also agree that if not in Austin, Herman will be in Baton Rouge. Think the likelihood is that he ends up at UT, tho.
I hope one of our "secret" offensive/defensive coordinators isn't picked to take over at UTSA.
