NMSU now looks like a loss, til I see otherwise from this team is have no faith that we will win at home against NMSU. Also UC Irvine could be a loss so I wouldn't be surprised to see Utep 8-5 going into conference which is really 7-5, cause the NAIA school doesn't really count. The sad thing, is that's worse than last year with a weak schedule. Now here's the hope. These guys gel, we get Buddha back, he helps on the boards and Floyd let's lightening quick Omega Harris play and we run through the conference with a new lease on life. Now for reality.... 2 teams are better than us at this point, LA Tech and Middle Tennessee and 3 more are about even ODU, UAB and W. Kentucky.... meaning we will probably lose about 5 games in conference making us 21-10 and out of both NCAA talk and NIT unless we win the tourney. So basically nothing has changed from years past with Floyd, No Improvement just the same false expectations at the beginning of each year and promise of something better. So I have been hesitant to say it, but here it goes..... If Floyd doesn't make NIT (and win a game or 2) or the NCAA, he would be doing the right thing to retire. If he wants to coach another team in a year or 2 so be it, but let this University he says he loves find a better guy for the job. Utep fans are not gonna continue to stand for this and they will lose fans and money. This is a NCAA town that expects legitimate post season play, if you can't deliver that Floyd graciously step aside like Spurrier did at S. Carolina and let someone else have a try.

...uh, no. Yes we have issues. No it won't be be an easy fix. And no, you don't get to speak for me. In fact, I find your analysis lacking. The season is just getting started. Beat the Aggies!
No one spoke for you, who are you? I posted my opinions, I don't believe I included you nor care whether you agree! My assessment is not just based on tonight, it's based on 5+ years. How bout u speak for yourself and what u think and I'll do the same, that's what makes freedom of speech wonderful. Also I didn't say I want this team to lose or fail, I said I hope the opposite, but right now the thread is unraveling on this young season and it's to be seen how or if the ship will be righted, but what has Floyd showed in 5+ years?
Looking for some positives I think we have some decent freshman !! I think jones, Thomas Winn and touchet will be really good in time
Well, we all hoped and expected that Floyd would get UTEP back to competing in the ncaa tourney on a regular basis. That's what we want and what we expect. But he is only in his 6th season and we all know it takes at least 10 to develop a good mbb program, right?
While I did enjoy driving up 6 hrs to Pullman... PS don't ever do it. that last 100 miles is brutal lol. Sadly the Miners looked as soft as WSU's crowd... No life, kinda just motionless... It was a little sad to see, I don't think they are giving up. It looked weird though. Floyd was coaching them,but they simply do not have an answer for a team with decent bigs. The guard play also has taken a step back, the ball movement looked like the previous 3 yrs... Need a leader, thought Artis or Morris would do it. Still can, hope they do.
