I think it's tough for UTEP to put FIU away because they play very similar games. If they play at UTEP's pace it's also FIU's pace. They're a bad match up for each other. I'm always a bit worried when playing them.
Someone needs to explain to Bea Martinez that when two teams are tied for 2nd place the next team in the standings is in 4th
While I agree that this is a must-win for UTEP to contend for the conference crown, most of FIU's losses are in the single digits. They play a high-pressure defense and make you work the entire game. I never count them as a gimme.
Close losses or not, we're at home against a team that only wins 1/3 of its games. We should expect to win a game like this.
