Dimmel is innovative in that regard.

The less influence Dimel has on ANY aspect of the offense the more productive the offense will be.
We have one game a year where we look like we've actually played the game of football prior to kickoff. I guess this is that game this year.

From what I understand, he is. It sure as hell didn’t seem like a Dimel offense the 1st quarter +.
I didn't think Dimel would ever give up the play calling. Figured the announcers were just assuming an OC would perform that duty.
You would think so but who knows what goes on in senters head
I thought the same but the offense was completely different so maybe the announcers did some homework? Thought dimel would go down with his sinking ship but maybe the players spoke up? Only thing I could think of. He reminds me of Paul “westhead” on Winning Time.
And instead of the offense getting the ball in good field position they go on to cut it to a 2 score lead
How else are we going to lose the game, if we don't have these brainless plays?
No lead is good with a Dimel coached team. That 21 point lead has been cut in half. Other coaches make half time adjustments, Not Dimel.
I don't think the offense looks too different. The FIU defense was daring UTEP to try to throw with single coverage on the WRs. The difference was that McConnell was able to connect on a few.
Nothing like watching our Miners come out for the 2nd half after Dana "Mr. Halftime Adjustment" Dismel has done nothing. Like a warm, comfy blanket.
