Whether you want Floyd canned, or think he deserves another year to right the ship, I hope you'll be happy for him that UTEP pulled off tonight's comeback.

Why?

He has deep ties to the Haskins coaching tree. He's on the sunset side of his career. Tonight was an emotional tribute to an historic team. Put yourself in his shoes if you can, if you will. If you're older, it's easy to. If you're a young lion, try to fast forward to the twilight of your youth.

If Floyd had lost this game, I think he would have resigned at the end of this season. Perhaps that's what you want -- fine if so. But give an aging lion his day, which may have been today.

Well stated. Hope this is the beginning of a turnaround. I want Floyd to get it done, but there's still some hills to climb.

I thought he was really inspiring for Harris who seemed in a funk most of the game. He calmed him down several times during time outs and when he came out of the game.

No just glad Miners won! But Floyd should go especially now that he's given up on his team playing defense. It'll hurt real soon if he really thinks that'll fix things. I'm damn happy they won and go my Miners!

Yes he has, almost 200 points in 2 games it's a win but not a solution. I hope they win out and show me wrong with all my Miner loyalty.

Given up on defense? Hardly, Floyd is beginning to realize that the style he coaches doesn't fit the players he plays. I think this is a smart decision IMO, he never really was a full court press, trapping type of coach but I think his players fit this style and he is making a concession to his players. Don't see anything wrong here and truth be told, I love this style of play and like we have seen the last two games you never are "out" of a game. With our size issue he really doesn't have a choice it's play helter-skelter or watch 6-7 power guys get rebound after rebound and pound us. Just a point of observation Nolan Richardson must be proud because yesterday for the last 8 min or so we played our own version of "40 min of hell".

I had the same thought about Nolan as Mosquito. Floyd has used a pressing trap defense over the years when he had the players to make it effective. This year has been a process of constantly adjusting to the strengths of the guys he has to put on the court. Floyd is hardly in the "sunset" of his career and he's doing what any good coach would do - using what he has to given his team the best chance of winning. He lacks a strong inside presence so he's capitalizing on what his guys do have - speed, quickness and good guard play.

Making lemonade out of lemons.
Making chicken salad out of chicken bleep.
Whatever metaphor you insert.
Just win, baby!!
And, yes, as loyal as the man is, has been to the spirit of the Bear, it's time for a change.
Congrats to the Miners on their last two victories.

I don't think they've given up on defense as much as this team realizes their best shot to win is to outscore their opponents.

My sentiments exactly. This team just doesn't have the defensive prowess most Floyd teams have, but they can really score when Floyd let's them loose. They did rebound well last night. I heard a stat by the analysts that said that WKU had the biggest rebounding margin in conference play. They only out boarded us by two...that's 2!!!

Really liking the starting line up and rotations lately too. I'll give Floyd credit for adjusting in that regard. He also seems to be letting the key guys fuk up without the threat of immediate bench time. The guys seem to be playing looser as a result and therefore more aggressive, too.

I said he's "on the sunset side" of his career.

In one of Floyd's interviews he stated that Richardson told him to continue pressing at half time. Also said the he (Richardson) said he'd rather win a game 119-118 than lose 59-58!
