Some people are so soft these days. I love living in El Paso, but nobody comes here to vacation. It's a nice place to live, but there is no way anybody from New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, etc. come here to vacation. People travel here because they have family here.

He was right when he said it isn't a rebuild. UTEP hasn't built anything in years. I don't have to tell you the last time UTEP has won a bowl game. Coach Walden is building a team from the ground up.

You don't have a sense of humor if you don't think that lying on beach chairs and overlooking Juarez isn't funny.

Too bad this Southern Utah “blast” barely came out today, if it came out earlier in the week, might have hooked a few idiots into buying tickets.

A CUSA coach needs to do something similar for one of those Wednesday games. Get some heat built between UTEP and someone else.

Does it matter why people choose to spend their money? Aren't you always saying that people on this board shouldn't be telling you to buy tickets and go to the game because you don't want to spend the money?

For me, if a coach craps on the city/school but it increases butts in the seats, then I say set it up every week.

No, it doesn’t matter, but yeah if you’re fooled by his comments, then you probably rode the slow bus to school.

A conference coach needs to do something similar, and needs to happen for several years. To build or attempt some kind of rivalry. Everyone will forget about this guy next week and the next home game isn’t until the first Thursday in October.

I'm not crying about it, for sure, but in the past hasn't someone gone back into the OPT and "announced" who the winner was? If I had known I had the closest score I definitely would have started this week's OPT, but when I popped in before Tuesday I didn't see an announced winner, and I have too much going on in my life to go and check all the scores myself. Ultimately, though, it's not that big of a deal.

I’m staying with UTEP but probably not touching it. This matchup should give us a clearer picture of each team, as they’re both coming off tough first games. The Miners’ stats were pretty brutal: 205 yards (149 passing) gained; 507 yards (284 passing) given up. Additionally UTEP posted 12 first downs and 3-of-10 on third down tries while surrendering 30 first downs and 11-of-17 on third-down conversions.
