If you missed the men's 800, two Miners broke away from the field and would have easily been 1 and 2. But in true UTEP fashion they wound up tripping each other and only 1 was able to cross the finish line. That was the first place medal for Korir. Saruni will have to wait until next year to finally get his gold in the 800. If both miners had gone down...well...we'd still be UTEP.
