Mike Ekeler is the linebackers coach and special teams coordinator at Georgia. Today he resigned to accept a defensive coordinator job at another school. The school isnt named. Could he be our new dc?

He probably won't but he made only a bit more money is his position job at Georgia than he would as DC at UTEP. UTEP could probably boost that up if they wanted him bad enough. Not sure he is in the picture at all.
To become a coordinator. That would put him in posistion to be a coordinator at a power five school or head coach at a g5 school. We can match his money at Georgia and likely give him a slight raise. It would be a good career move.
does he have any history with Kugler? did they ever coach together elsewhere? what am I not seeing here?
it will be a good career move if he proves he can win with less than 4 and 5 star talent. otherwise, he may never get back to the SEC.
Its just speculation. All that is known is that he left his job to become a coordinator. He's probably headed to a g5 school. Kugler runs a tight ship there have been no names leaked or coaches seen. Its just speculation, but i would think by now Kugler has his coordinators in place. I dont think this will drag out past Christmas.

He will be in the hot seat immediately if he were to be hired. This is Kug's 4th year and now a new defense needs installed. He seems very sociable and a totally opposite for Kug's personality. Has tons of big time college football experience. Cane fans and Richt followers are kind of stunned he's not coming to Miami. (But Miami is coming to El Paso and he said publicly yesterday he is making his announcement in the coming days). Fans thought he was a good coach and loved his passion.
