I spoke to a UTEP supporter who literally follows the basketball team as in they attend practices and scrimmages and stated to me this team looks really good, a lot better than last year's team. That's all they told me.

I don't think anyone thinks that it hurts but can you tell us how it helps? I think maybe doing things in Juarez is good to build a fan base over there, as people can commute to games. However, I don't know how many people actually would commute to EP to watch a game.
Since super fan ever loyal Vegas can’t think of anything to say I’ll respond for him.
Went to the New Mexico bowl. Broke the eastern time zone curse. Sold out game vs UNT.
Finished 20-14. Beat California. Made the second round of a postseason called the Basketball Classic.
How is that the men's BB account has only 9k followers? How's that improved? While I do see more posts (because I follow) what are they doing to increase followers? I think 9k is embarrassing
I think it is due to the fact that the bulk of UTEP's fan base is older.

South Florida has 20.3k
Loyola Marymount has 6.9k
Kentucky has 886k
Hawaii has 14.5k
San Jose St has 8.6k
UNM has 31.4k

After looking up a couple of those, UTEP probably needs to work on it.
We shouldn’t complain then. Selling out a game and making the NM Bowl in 10 years is certainly something we should be proud of. Being 1-7 is great.
Beating Pac 12 teams with a losing record is certainly the pinnacle of success. I wonder why there is no banner for the Basketball Classic appearance? Must be an oversight.

I am tired of seeing countless coaches succeed at schools with worse fan support than UTEP
I am tired of UTEP keeping coaches too long
I am tired of waiting until next year, every single year
I remember what it was like in 2004 and 2005. Those were great times and even then, they are only great times by UTEP standards. I am not even asking for that. I am asking for hope that we can make a bowl game once every 3 years and make the NCAAs once a decade. Who would have thought that be the case 20 years earlier?
I can’t wait to tell my grandkids about the 2024 FIU football win and the first two games of the 2024 CUSA basketball tournament!
Ending WKU's 85 game CUSA win streak in Volleyball would rank right up there for me. Wallis came up short yesterday, but has another shot today. 😀

Still waiting on that extensive list of UTEP football and basketball accomplishments over the last decade, sunshine.
I think that there is an explanation for this. UTEP, being UTEP, was late to the party in having every sport create accounts for themselves. UTEP would use its general athletics account as an umbrella account for every sport. If and when we ever are at the top of the conference in football and basketball, our socials will get exponentially larger. We really do have the biggest, if not one of the biggest fan bases in the conference.
I don’t think it matters too much. It does speak to the fact that they maybe ignored it too much or don’t do enough to get some fans engaged. Kennesaw has 14k, but they don’t get the crowds that UTEP does.
The reality is simple: we haven’t achieved much on the court. It’s been 16 years since our last NCAA tournament appearance, an entire generation of students we’ve missed connecting with. Success on the court will naturally drive engagement on social media and beyond.
As I stated previously, I personally can and will complain. I just don't dredge up shit from 20 years ago to prove a point from yesterday. We ALL know we've sucked forever. Beating that dead ass horse IS being a troll.

I like the direction of our defense. I like the fact we have reduced penalties. I hate we can't score for shit.

Have you ever wondered if there are students from Juarez attending UTEP ? or are you new to the borderland ?
Give tougher basketball experience to UACH players as they go into their bb season, public relations, UTEP exposure as school, recruiting, student enrollment etc etc
