Those first two games vs Jacksonville St and UIW aren’t going to be pushovers. There’s a possibility this team could start 0-2. And if that happens 0-5 is a strong possibility. I know I’m being a Debbie Downer right now but this team needs upgrade at QB now.

Home opener against UIW, and I am afraid utep will lose that game. Wouldn't be surprised by an 0-4 start.

The NMSU game should be a Thanksgiving Weekend tradition.

UIW lost their coach, not sure if they’re going to still be good or not.
Shoot most of their coaching staff is at Texas State and they already out recruiting UTEP like every other G5 school in the state. They have brought in some legit dudes already, not JUCOs with 200 twitter followers.
That is the problem when you “whore yourself out”. CUSA decided not to several years ago and got stuck with CBSSN, Stadium, and Facebook games for small money. They did have more say on when their games were played.
It didn’t work out like they thought and allowed the SBC to poach teams. So now, CUSA was stuck and basically had to take the latest deal, because all of the teams left are trash.
So now ESPN can say “NMSU at UTEP is going to be on Wednesday” and both schools have no say in the matter.
There is 0 reason for that. UTEP has had a 100 year head start on their football program in Division 1. But that’s UTEP for you.
To be fair, that's been Dimels only strength. El paso is a tough sell.
Dimel has produced more NFL draft declarations the past two seasons than undrafted NFL free-agents and only two of his QBs he’s recruited have actually seen the field (I think), dude has zero strengths as a HC. He has a kid on his roster who is a walk-on QB from El Paso high and he didn’t win a single game his senior year……not buying that El Paso is a tough sell either i mean know what you mean though no disrespect, Dimel ain’t selling shit but playing time to JUCO kids in my opinion,
1. UTEP and NMSU playing on a weekday is stupid. This whole schedule is bad for us.
2. You always complained about UTEP not being on ESPN. You finally got what you wanted and you still complain.
If the Miners don’t go 3-0 vs Jax St, UIW, and SHSU, Dimel should be fired immediately
When did I complain about that? The more ESPN games, the better. Those are games I definitely won’t go to and can watch them at home.
Pretend it’s 2018 and look at this schedule. That would be our independent schedule basically.
Their QB could be Lamar Jackson, UTEP and Dimel have no business losing to FCS schools.

this year team has to win at least 7 wins to show any kind of improvement. that being said, this years schedule is very tough to get 7 wins. They agreed to this schedule and the money games.. So, lets see what the Miners can come up this....
