Would have preferred “UTEP” in old English. I’ve seen some posts were they are referring to us as “El JUCO.”

Why not just say ‘El Paso’
Like I said, screw it lean into the cholo angle. HBCUs have their thing and they embrace it. Let’s go ahead and be the cholo school. I’d honestly prefer some Kid Frost instead of lame ass Journey.
I mean it is part of El Paso's culture, I'm good with "El Chuco" I wouldn't use the term, but there is nothing wrong with it IMO.
I don’t call El Paso “El Chuco” either… that sounds too “Sunday Fox 92.3 Pool Party”-ish for me. But I’d rather we embrace that instead of some corny rip off nicknames everyone uses nowadays.
Get some low riders in that S Endzone area. Instead of the ROTC guys doing pushups every time the team scores get those cars to bounce. National news here we come.
Although I hate it, I like the idea of the low riders bouncing after every score. That would be cool.
What I never liked is the mascot, they should go back to the 80's 90's Miner Mascot or a modern version of it
OMG I've been public about how much I abhor this version of the mascot. Anyone willing to pitch in and help me buy a new mascot? I hear the outfits go for about 5 or 6 thousand. Might be more by now. We need to replace this metrosexual "Mr. Clean" with a real fvcking miner.
I’m glad they have the alternate helmets with the 80s logo.. I know people are iffy on the numbers on the new helmets but I’d rather have that instead of that lame ass UTEP font.
Maybe contact this guy to get it going?
