OT: Cowboys

Bring in Chucky! Yes he has baggage, but Jerah would be the perfect buffer between Gruden and the naysayers.

Pete Carroll is a possibility. I wouldn’t want Belichick, and I sure as hell don’t want Coach Clown. That being said, Herr Jerah would most probably hire the later.

Deion would steal the spotlight from Jerrah, so that won't happen.

I'd back the Brinks truck up to Ben Johnson's house, but we'll probably end up with Zimmer or Kellen Moore.

Please, please, pleeeaaaseeee let it be true! I would love to see what Deion does with Dallas and watch all the Cowgirl fans blow a fuse. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I just don't see him having success there as he still has to deal with Jerry. Secondly, he will insist they draft his son. Fine, but Dak is signed for 4 more years with a no trade clause. As I have said, the next 4 years with the Cowboys is a total waste. If we had a young QB, or one that wasn't tying up the salary cap at a tune of 60 a year, we could rebuild over the next 2 years. Too many players are tying up the Cap.

The Running back that they draft will be a waste because this is a team that needs to rebuild and Jerry will try to just add. They are in a very bad spot right now as I see at least 6 bad years in a row due to Dak and the salary cap not allowing the team to truly rebuild, and an owner that is so stupid that he thought he didn't need a RB.

So, whomever comes in now to coach the team, it will not matter, because he will be dealing with a bad situation of players leaving, getting old, a GM that is the worst in the NFL, and a salary cap that will tie your hands.

When or where did Sanders say that he has to coach woth his son? I've heard him say that there are a couple of teams he wants his sons to avoid, but thats it.

Some of us on here recognized a while ago that he is not the guy, while others insist to give time/patience. Those guys need to quit with the excuses now.

Jerruh might not by around by then

It is the same thing that LeBron said about his son. All the rumors that he was not going to the Lakers, and LeBron forced them to waste a pick on him and now he is a mediocre G League player.

Dion said that because there was no thought of himself being the coach. I will guarantee, he will want him drafted if he is the coach. Remember Jerry thought that Johnny Manziel was the best QB in the draft and was so upset when he was pushed out for Zack Martin. Dion will hype up Jerry and finagle that pick. Mark my words.

In saying the above though, I would think Jerry will hire Kellen Moore because it is the same old same old as Jerry thinks he is a genius.

"Cap space is -- to steal a term from owner and general manager Jerry Jones -- fungible.

Some projections expect the 2025 salary cap to be approximately $275 million. Teams aren't planning for the $30 million jump it took in 2024, but it will still go up. According to Roster Management System, the Cowboys have 40 players signed for 2025 at a cost of $263 million.

Prescott has a 2025 cap number of $89.89 million via the four-year extension he signed in September that made him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. The Cowboys will restructure that deal and gain about $36 million in cap room.

Lamb has a cap number of $35.45 million for next season on the extension he signed in August, which made him the second-highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. The Cowboys will restructure that deal and gain about $20 million in cap space." https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...y-cap-free-agency-micah-parsons-stephen-jones

So he hires Deion, then which splash free agent?

I hate the fact that Dallas didn’t sign Dak to such a bad deal. It’s Tony Romo all over again. They’re going to keep restructuring which means that they will be hamstrung with tons of dead money down the road. I swear Jimmy Johnson is the king of bad contracts.

In other news the” coach” stated that Jerry Jones will be the starting quarterback and will be two way player being the middle linebacker. By installing these changes the greatest mind in football will be in total control.
I think he's a more natural edge rusher than a middle linebacker.

Wow, those were the days. Sad that we are far removed from them because of Jerry. I get nostalgic when I see those games and it is the same thing with the Miners. When you see what we used to produce and what we product today, you often wonder if we can ever get back.

The great thing about the NFL is there is so much parity in the league. You have a couple of good drafts and you’re back in it, especially when compared to Baseball of basketball. My worry is Dak’s contract is going to be an albatross over this club for the rest of the decade, especially if they keep restructuring and pushing the money further down the line.

The draft is not going to help Dallas because of what you just said. They will get a RB this year, and I have said it before, he will be wasted on an aging OLine. They don't have a young QB like Stroud that pairs with him. They have a guy that has proven he can't win the big games when it counts (2 whole playoff wins and yet he gets paid more than Mahomes).

Time to rebuild the team through the draft was wasted on resigning Dak, as Jerry does not understand that the time to rebuild was now. Jerry still doesn't believe he needs to rebuild which is the real issue. Combine that with key players that are going to leave primarily on defense, but also on offense.

This team is done for the 4 more years of Dak, and at least a couple more for the proper re-build. You are going to see some bad years ahead. If Jerry doesn't pass on in those 6 years, you will see that extended even further. He has no business being any kind of GM anywhere and has run the team into the ground.
