Not enough time to prepare. I’m sure many of the players have gone home for the holidays. The game is going to be canceled.
They can move the game to as late as a January 10 if need be. Anything is possible at this point.
Not to mention Dimel is probably dealing with the funeral, I think it has a tie to KSU.
SMU would had been a nice alternative, as their bowl game got axed as well. But the university already announced their season is over.
Olivas said there is no back up plan even though it was mentioned a week ago on this forum that this could happen.
Bernie is just there to gladhand.
NCAA can change that rule… if pressured, by CBS? Others? Then he is also to be blamed. You always need a backup plan, and looks like he took Miami’s word at face value.
You all make it sound like a replacement team can be found and prepared to play in less than a week. Hey, let’s give Bishop Sycamore a call. 🙄😂🤡
I’m not surprised to hear Miami is pulling out of the Sun Bowl game. Miami has never liked playing in the SB and it sucks they’re pulling this stunt at the last minute. It’s going to be impossible to find a decent replacement this late in the process.
Bowl games are a joke now nobody wants to play in them.The bowl games are made just for Vegas.

UT system admin should be on the phone telling the 'horns to get packed and over to El Paso. It benefits everyone -- including UTEP.
Any replacement team that comes will be a hometown hero.

Though things got slightly off the rails late in the season after a hot start for SMU football, the Mustangs are still going bowling as they prepare to face the Virginia Cavaliers in the Fenway Bowl which, as you might’ve guessed, will be played at vaunted Fenway Park in Boston.
A trip to Fenway from Dallas is certainly not a short one for the SMU football program but it seemingly got even longer for the Mustangs equipment truck making the trek up to the northeast.“
