I can program. I've never developed an app; my professional experience is primarily in writing software for avionics displays in Ada. I'm also competent in C++ and I've done a bit of Java. It would be fun to try my hand at an app, but there would be a little bit of a learning curve.

Yeah... I write web apps w/sql back end db.

Well, there are different IT courses where you can learn the basics in programming domain. Or you can easily contact a programmer to help you solve your problem. Still, in my opinion it is much better to try by yourself this field, because to be honest, this is the future, and you can easily find a good job, with a good monthly wage in this area. I have a lot of friends that are working in IT, and guys are making real money there. Think about it.
