This time we did not give up very many layups and were able to get some offensive rebounds--even if we missed too many wide open shots/tip-ins under the basket. The footwork of our bigger guys also appeared to have progressed, especially on the defensive end.
I continue to feel that our mid-range and outside games will be our strengths, but it would be nice to see contributions from our inside players.
On a huge side note, could someone please inform our announcer how to pronounce "Venegas"? It is an embarrassment to be in El Paso and hear someone absolutely murder Spanish surnames--he pronounces it "VIN' uh guss" as in "vinegar". BTW--I am not a native Spanish language speaker and moved here from elsewhere, but it irks me when someone has lived in El Paso for most of their life and still makes no attempt to pronounce words correctly (i.e., "REE' uh doh sah" for "Ruidoso").
