Question for those complaining?

A week ago everybody wanted Kugler gone. Today Kugler is gone, yet some people are still upset. Let me ask this question, what would you prefer:

A.) Kugler remained Head Coach through the end of the season?
B.) Price becomes our temporary Head Coach through the end of the season?
C.) Natkin(who did not even have D1 Coordinator experience two weeks ago) becomes our temporary Head Coach through the end of the season?
D.) Mason(who is 2-18 all-time as an Interim Coach)becomes our temporary Head Coach through the end of the season?

The answer is...... that it doesn’t matter, because two months from now the season will be over and all of these coaches will be gone.

A temporary fix with Price is a good decision. He will not win a bunch but he knows how to prepare for games against a La Tech or WKU. Will UTEP win? Hell no. But it will be less than three touchdowns.

I think we’re going to get blown out still. First off he can’t draw up new plays and make the receivers catch in 4 days. But it will be exciting because you know he’s gonna pull out some trick plays and go for it on 4th down in he first quarter. The riverboat gambler is back!

Keep expectations at the sober level.

You can't send off players to learn new plays almost half a season in when they have tests, thesis papers and midterms to prepare for. Sure they have staff to help with that but its not realistic. This is power run first offense NOT built on gambling that's been crammed down their 20 year old testosterone ladden minds.

Completely agree. This isn’t the future. It’s not even a real fix. It’s actually nice UTEP has a guy like this available. Sort of similar to when Lou Henson bailed out Aggie hoops on the late 90s.

What it does is bring some new excitement to the program and I wouldn’t be surprised if you see the Sun Bowl a little more full for coming games. I really don’t get all the Mike Price hate. His teams were always so fun to watch, even during losing seasons they were competitive. I doubt UTEP manages to win another game this season but if they manage a W or two, it’ll have been a fantastic decision.

In effect, Coach Price is taking one for the team. It was a lose, lose situation at this point of the season no matter who the head coach is. Naming either coordinator to the spot would have been throwing that one to the wolves. This year is a circus as far as football goes and Price is a proven commodity when it comes to being the front man for a circus. So sit back and enjoy the show as much as possible for the rest of the season. Let's get a new AD in here and let him, her search for a new football coach. Thanks to Coach Price for stepping up for UTEP. Best wishes to Coach Kugler. Odd time to bail on the program, but he turned things around positively off the field. Just couldn't put it on the field.

A week ago, I was beat down and unmotivated about the remainder this UTEP Football season. Today, I know for certain that there will be a new Head Coach and a fresh start to our program. Our situation has improved and the finality of the Kugler issue has already taken place. We also have a slight change for the remainder of this year as well. I am much more optimistic about things today than I was a week ago.

I read Natkin's comments about Price coming in and I understand his reservation/point of view. But Natkin is also an Offensive Coordinator whose offense has never scored a 2nd half touchdown at the D1 level. It is good to bring Price in and let him handle the media and HC duties of a losing season, while Natkin can focus on trying to get his offense to score a 2nd half point.
