April 22Are we ever gonna sign anyone?
Is there a deadline for the portal ?
Golding will have open tryouts at memorial gym. Are you going??Are we ever gonna sign anyone?

Much respect for Coach Walden for standing up to other coaches who want to poach our players.Speaking of transfer portals…
Walden appears to be proactive while Golding is reactive.Speaking of transfer portals…
Real talk I don’t know how Golding is even gonna field a team next year with the slow start he’s having.Walden appears to be proactive while Golding is reactive.
We want back players that went 7-11 in CUSA why exactly?Seeing as though Golding is waiting this recruiting cycle out in an attempt to psyche out the rest of C-USA do you think any of them find their way back to UTEP?
I’m not saying I want them back. But it seems like we’re moving at a snail’s pace when it comes to retooling a bare bones roster. I just wonder if these players will try to come back and whether or not Golding would take them back.We want back players that went 7-11 in CUSA why exactly?
Joey Pewter didn’t accomplish anything with Souley Boum on his team and he didn’t accomplish anything last year with a “loaded” team. I don’t need to see who is on the team next year to know it’s going to be mid at best. Not to beat a dead horse 🐴, but the issue I have isn’t so much which players Golding brings in. NMSU even brought in a decently competitive new squad in. My interpretation is that Golding will still be coaching whomever comes in. I will still be excited to see who comes in, because I’m a Miner fan, but my faith in that team accomplishing anything next year is very slim.
I agree that Joe Pyrite, as an Xs and Os coach, is a big part of the problem. You mention that the issue you have isn’t so much who he brings in, however that is at least half of the problem…is who he brings in.Not to beat a dead horse 🐴, but the issue I have isn’t so much which players Golding brings in. I agree, to clarify what I meant. I’m not overly concerned with who he brings in, because even though teams have proven that even with a whole new team A.P.E…. Texas Tech a couple years back, Drake last year, and to an extent NMSU; I have 0 faith Coach G. can bring in the talent or coach well enough to do this successfully. Is he a sh!tty talent evaluator or has it been that only the table scraps want to come to UTEP? I don’t know. Either way, it’s hard to get excited about anyone he is going to bring in.
Yeah. I’m sure I’ll be interested too. I have little faith these days in anything Miner bb.I agree, to clarify what I meant. If they get rejected everywhere else first, we can probably get them back for half the NIL we paid them last season. We want back players that went 7-11 in CUSA why exactly?
I’d rather have all high school and JC players than run it back with these same guys.If they get rejected everywhere else first, we can probably get them back for half the NIL we paid them last season.
Golding did sign a couple of three star guys early, Bobby Montgomery and De'Erick Barber. Dropping Boykins likely means Barber is gone. I believe Spriggs recruited Montgomery, so I guess it is possible he could stick around. For sure, Golding better hope his new assistants can bring in at least a couple of recruits in tow.I’d rather have all high school and JC players than run it back with these same guys.

That Memphis kid, and the TN QB are everything that’s wrong with the transfer portal. These players don’t know what the hell they want and the NCAA needs to make a decision on all this stuff. If they want lawlessness, at least make it lawlsesnes with rules.
So nmsu can pick up a guy who averaged 19 points a game and no major pick ups by UTEP? I thought UTEP had more NIL funds for basketball than nmsu. Golding is a lame duck coach and next year will be 10 win season, if we’re lucky.
Remember you cannot ask about how NMSU accomplishes things that UTEP cannot here. Very taboo! So nmsu can pick up a guy who averaged 19 points a game and no major pick ups by UTEP?
