This one is, unfortunately, pretty easy. We've lost 6 straight and are 4-7 on the road. While this has been a disappointing season for LA Tech, they are 10-4 at home. We go limping into the CUSA Tournament on a 7 game losing streak.

LA Tech 80
UTEP 68

A big thank you to my son for getting married this weekend, and cramming tomorrow so full of activities that I won't be able to watch this game.

I would love to be the optimist and say we win but Batcho’s mom is in town from France and he would live nothing more than to win for her on senior day.

La Tech 73
UTEP 70

There is a chance to pull off the win if we keep getting fouls called on our baskets. Foul them out and make our free throws.

That’s how most of the crowds at mid majors are though. We have a section of fans that complain that there’s not 8,000 at the Don for every game. UTEP is extremely lucky to get the crowds they still get.
Understandable. Even during the Jans years nmsu was averaging around 6k. Now there is around 5200 during the Hooten rebuild. It’s more surprising to see good teams not having fan buy in or university outreach to draw crowds.

Congrats! On your son getting married, of course! Only time will tell if congratulations are in order for missing a possible shit show.

Mannn…it’s really gotten bad. It just ain’t clicking with this team…for more than a couple minutes at a time, a few times a game.
Yep. Giving up a bunch of open shots on defense; and not generating enough turnovers. Bynum's offensive game is stuck in JC run and gun. Forcing bad shot after bad shot. You have to value the ball at this level. He just doesn't. On defense, he gets beat consistently off the dribble. Golding gambled the season on Bynum and Barnes, and it will likely cost him his job.

Yeah, he’s definitely a downgrade from Hardy and or Powell. To be successful, UTEP needed Bynum and Barnes to be upgrades. However this team’s deficiencies go well beyond just those two. But yeah, aside from 3 point shooting, Bynum doesn’t bring anything.

Early on, I had hopes Bynum/Barnes would be better offensively, or at least more efficient. On the defensive side, it isn't enough close to what Hardy and Powell brought to the table. Just one of many issues on this team, like you mentioned.

Nobody's really answered what the heck happened to a promising season? There will always be an early OOC ugly game, um well, UTEP had two, but an ugly game where one "got away".

Players got into dog house with Golding midway? Players nor accustomed to this level of play? No fire in the belly? And the best for last, can't coach up. Can coach certain parts of the game well, but can't put a whole game together. That's Golding. All these things happened.

Having now watching the first 10 minutes of a UTEP game since the nmsu win I can see why everyone is down on the team. Yes it is senior day but damn this team is bad. Missed open shots poor interior defense. No consistency.

So maybe I missed this but it is obvious that Golding lost this team, and it seemed as far back as when Bynum got suspended. IMO they haven’t looked good since then. Does that seem about the correct timeline to y’all as well? Maybe it was discussed already but what happened in that practice. They just seem off since then.

The Camper injury seemed to make a difference.

From that JSU game, we’ve only won three games. The NMSU revenge game, FIU (worst team in the conference, and Kennesaw state by 2 (completely aside, still one of the worst games I have ever seen by officials). So 3-10 since Camper’s injury (including where he was injured), 2-7 since Bynum’s suspension was announced pre game NMSU
