Lol, good one. I think the joke is a little old now. I am pretty sure multiple people had already said he was going to commit though, so it wasn’t a surprise.Yuuuup. @kickballpro told me this in secret that last week and made me promise not to ruin Calvin’s moment by posting it here.
Are you done bro?Yuuuup. @kickballpro told me this in secret that last week and made me promise not to ruin Calvin’s moment by posting it here.
Nope. It’s hilariousAre you done bro?
No, he has nothing of value to add to any discussion. 🤦🏻♂️Are you done bro?
Yeah, you’re right. Better to make up rumors and claim credit afterwards. No, he has nothing of value to add to any discussion. 🤦🏻♂️
Lol even if I did “make up rumors”at least that is value add information that im sure some may find interesting. However, that is not the case as pretty much everything I mentioned other than juwan newton was correct. Im not claiming any credit, multiple people already knew this guy was possibly coming.Yeah, you’re right. Better to make up rumors and claim credit afterwards.
Yes, they may not be able to score next year, but they will defend and rebound at a high level.I've noticed all of Golding's recruits are good rebounders, also.
He should have a decent role on this team. If he is a starter then we will be pretty small up front.Anyway, calvin Solomon is a damn good player with potential to be one of the best defenders in cusa.
I will believe it when I see it. Goldings style on defense is not conducive for big rebounding numbers.Yes, they may not be able to score next year, but they will defend and rebound at a high level.
Shave the head and he sure does. Let's hope he has the same motorReminds me of Vince Hunter.
Look at his High school highlights.Shave the head and he sure does. Let's hope he has the same motor
This? These numbers are what we're excited about? SMH.
Better than what we have and he's been improving every year. We have him for 2 more. I will take it.This? These numbers are what we're excited about? SMH.
Sounds like the Houston cougars blueprintYes, they may not be able to score next year, but they will defend and rebound at a high level.
10 points a game ain’t bad, Bro.This? These numbers are what we're excited about? SMH.
He rebounds and blocks shots as well.10 points a game ain’t bad, Bro.
Yup. 6 boards per game is nothing to sneeze at. We're going to see some double doubles out of him this season. He rebounds and blocks shots as well.
9 points a game at SFA isn't great either my friend.10 points a game ain’t bad, Bro.
I'm not knocking the kid. I'm knocking this board that ALWAYS over hypes a player then is disappointed when he doesn't live up to expectations.Yup. 6 boards per game is nothing to sneeze at. We're going to see some double doubles out of him this season.

What’d Tydus average here?9 points a game at SFA isn't great either my friend.
SFA played MTSU in the Cancun Classic last year. SFA won 87-74 and Solomon had 3 offensive rebounds and 4 defensive in 20 minutes. He had 13 points on a team who dominated us twice.I'm not knocking the kid. I'm knocking this board that ALWAYS over hypes a player then is disappointed when he doesn't live up to expectations.
He's a good addition, but we needed some better help up front. Otherwise one of our bigs needs to really step up. Again though, our style of defense is not conducive to big rebounding numbers from the bigs (even when the recovery phase is mastered).SFA played MTSU in the Cancun Classic last year. Don't see that happening. Golding was on SportsTalk and although he mentioned getting a Big, he said Onyema and Kalu are coming along and putting in the work. Also, said that our league doesn't really have any 5's. It makes it hard to put them on the Floor because they have to guard a 6'6 guy. He's a good addition, but we needed some better help up front. Yeah, we need a shooter.Don't see that happening. Golding was on SportsTalk and although he mentioned getting a Big, he said Onyema and Kalu are coming along and putting in the work. I think the final signing will be a 3 point specialist.
A graduate transfer like Daryl Edwards, who can shoot AND defend, would be a great addition.Yeah, we need a shooter.
Really? I could have sworn that there are plenty of 5s in our league and beyond. How are we going to guard them?Don't see that happening. Golding actually mentioned several points regarding recruiting another true 5 player. First, he said he likes where Onyema, Kalu, and Hamilton (to a lesser extent) are at developmentally. He said it is tough to find those type of players, and every team is looking for one (high demand). If that big is unable to score, it is tough keeping him on the floor because he likely won't be able to guard a smaller man. In terms of defending a big, he mentioned the philosophy of three quartering the post forcing a lob over the top, which makes it difficult to get the ball to the opposing team's big. He mentioned that there were only three CUSA teams last year with true post players (UAB, WKU, and LAT).Really? I could have sworn that there are plenty of 5s in our league and beyond. How are we going to guard them?
Or maybe he is just unable to sign a 5. If he would just come out and say so or that he wants to play smaller then that's fine. I'm glad Kalu and Z are coming along and putting in work.
Well that sounds more honest, but I still don't like the thrown in excuses. I guarantee that if he could get a skilled big now that he would. It's obviously a chink in his armourGolding actually mentioned several points regarding recruiting another true 5 player.
