WAC 16
1999 WAC had two teams ranked teams in the top 25 (#6 & #25) and sent 3 teams to the NCAAT. All three teams won one game each in the tournament. Top teams by RPI 18, 24, 41, 71, 74, 76, 79, 87, 103
1998 WAC had 3 ranked teams (#7, #15, & #18) had 8 teams with at least 20 wins, and sent four teams to the NCAA Tournament. Two teams didn’t make it past the first game, one won one, and the other was the runner up. RPI: 14, 19, 30, 42, 45, 52, 64, 76, 98, 102
1997 WAC had 2 ranked teams (#2 & #11) 8 teams with at least 20 wins, and 3 NCAA tournament teams. Two advanced to the round of 32 and the other to the elite 8. RPI: 5, 14, 15, 41, 50, 58, 61, 69, 98
Old WAC

Yeah but I was responding to 8106 whose question had to do with the WAC as a whole, not UTEP specifically. I just happened to specify the timeframe in which the WAC was a tough bb conference.
@UTEPMiners8106 was talking about the league as a whole. They were a lot of great teams in the WAC back then.
In 1998, Utah was in the National Championship game. They were other great teams as well.
I am was just showing you how good the teams were back then. Finishing over .500 wasn't terrible.

A bad record is 6-24 or 8-21. One or two games below or above .500 is average.
